Purpose: Lithotomy position has been widely used in the various urologic surgery. Occasionally sensory and motor problems of the lower extremities are occurred due to the lithotomy position and these deficits may be related with sciatic nerve injury (SNI). The effect on vital signs of concomitant administration of nicardipine and dexmedetomidine sedation after spinal anesthesia: A double-blind, randomized controlled trial.

Background: We evaluated heart rate (HR) and blood pressure (BP) trends when nicardipine (NCD) was co-administered during dexmedetomidine (DEX) sedation after spinal anesthesia.

Methods: Sixty patients aged 19 to 65 were randomly assigned to the DEX or DEX-NCD groups. Five minutes after infusion of the loading dose of DEX, the NCD was administered intravenously at a rate of 5 μg/kg for 5 minutes in the DEX-NCD group.

Clinical characteristics of surgically managed patients with asymptomatic renal stones: Comparison of patients with symptomatic renal stones.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the characteristics of asymptomatic and symptomatic nephrolithiasis in patients who underwent surgical treatment for kidney stones.

Materials And Methods: Between 2015 and 2019, 245 patients who underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy or retrograde intrarenal surgery for kidney stones were included. The patients were divided into asymptomatic (n=124) and symptomatic (n=121) groups.
