- A new high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-electrospray ionization (ESI) tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was developed to measure propiverine and its N-oxide metabolite in human plasma using oxybutynin as an internal standard.
- Instead of conventional organic solvent extraction, the method improves efficiency by directly injecting plasma samples after protein precipitation with acetonitrile.
- The method demonstrated high sensitivity, with a lower limit of quantitation of 1ng/ml for propiverine and 2ng/ml for N-oxide, and was validated for pharmacokinetic studies.
