Background: International data suggest that parents may have reservations about the use of silver diamine fluoride (SDF).

Aim: The aims of this study were to: (1) examine the acceptance of parents/carers towards the use of SDF for the management of caries in children's primary teeth in secondary care dental settings in the UK and the United States and (2) determine which factors may affect the acceptance of the use of SDF.

Design: This was a cross-sectional questionnaire of SDF acceptability, completed by parents of young children.

Dithianon is a conventional broad-spectrum protectant fungicide widely used in agriculture, but its potential neurotoxic risk to animals remains largely unknown. In this study, neurotoxic effects of Dithianon and its underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms were investigated using the nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans, as a model system. Upon chronic exposure of C.

Pathogenic germline variation in the microRNA processing gene DICER1 gives rise to an autosomal dominant, tumor-predisposition disorder. Conditional deletion of Dicer1 in murine dental epithelium shows that it controls tooth patterning, size, number, and shape. The human dental phenotype of people with germline pathogenic variation in DICER1 is unknown.

Activation of an apical Ca(2+)-activated Cl(-) channel (CaCC) triggers the secretion of saliva. It was previously demonstrated that CaCC-mediated Cl(-) current and Cl(-) efflux are absent in the acinar cells of systemic Tmem16A (Tmem16A Cl(-) channel) null mice, but salivation was not assessed in fully developed glands because Tmem16A null mice die within a few days after birth. To test the role of Tmem16A in adult salivary glands, we generated conditional knockout mice lacking Tmem16A in acinar cells (Tmem16A(-/-)).
