Aim: The study compares knowledge, skills, anxiety, satisfaction and self-confidence regarding suctioning between students trained using a partial task trainer with moulage and those using a low-fidelity simulator.
Background: Moulage application in simulation has been used in nursing skills training, such as intravenous therapy, pressure ulcer and burn care, but not for suctioning.
Design: A randomized controlled study with pre-test, post-test design.
Background: The incidence of spontaneous CSF otorrhea is increasing and knowledge about treatment management is growing.
Objectives: To analyse the cases operated the middle cranial fossa approach (MCFA) for spontaneous CSF otorrhea in our clinic and to evaluate the long-term surgical results in the light of the literature.
Methods: Demographic data, presenting complaints, complications, hearing outcomes, recurrence rates and long-term success of patients operated with MCFA between 2012 and 2022 in our tertiary care centre were evaluated.
Background: Nursing education combines theoretical knowledge and clinical practice to prepare nursing students to meet the evolving demands of healthcare services. Understanding nursing students' metaphorical perceptions of the nursing profession and professional communication during their first clinical experiences can provide valuable insights into their professional identity and communication skills, as well as giving information about necessary improvements in nursing education. This study aimed to reveal the metaphorical perceptions of nursing students regarding the concepts of professional communication and nursing during their first clinical practices.

Acute appendicitis is an abrupt inflammation of the appendix, which causes symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and fever. Computed tomography (CT) is a useful tool in accurate diagnosis of acute appendicitis; however, it causes challenges due to factors such as the anatomical structure of the colon and localization of the appendix in CT images. In this paper, a novel Convolutional Neural Network model, namely, LesionScanNet for the computer-aided detection of acute appendicitis has been proposed.

Five three-dimensionally printed mandibular molars were used, with one tooth left unshaped and the remaining four shaped using ProTaper Gold (Dentsply, Tulsa Dental Specialties, Tulsa, OK), Reciproc Blue (VDW, Munich, Germany), XP-endo Shaper (FKG Dentaire, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland), and Hyflex EDM (Coltene/Whaledent, Altst€atten, Switzerland) rotary systems. Subsequently, micro-CT scans were performed on the teeth, and representative FEA models were generated.

Our study included 42 pediatric patients aged between 7 and 18 who were diagnosed with primary RP and did not have any additional underlying structural vascular disease or secondary rheumatological conditions. The control group consisted of 30 healthy volunteers aged 7-18 years, matched by age and sex, without any additional diseases.

Materials And Methods: Our study was conducted on a total of 84 autopsy cases between the ages of 20-90 years who came to Tokat Forensic Medicine Institute. The laryngeal region was palpated to determine whether TrC was present.
Excess health and safety risks of commercial drivers are largely determined by, embedded in, or operate as complex, dynamic, and randomly determined systems with interacting parts. Yet, prevailing epidemiology is entrenched in narrow, deterministic, and static exposure-response frameworks along with ensuing inadequate data and limiting methods, thereby perpetuating an incomplete understanding of commercial drivers' health and safety risks. This paper is grounded in our ongoing research that conceptualizes health and safety challenges of working people as multilayered "wholes" of interacting work and nonwork factors, exemplified by complex-systems epistemologies.

Methods: A retrospective chart review of subjects who underwent endolymphatic sac decompression at a tertiary referral centre was performed. Data on audiological results, caloric testing, and functional level scale of the patients were analysed.
Background: We aim to assess the effects of gastric posterior fixation with fibrin sealant in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in aspects of 12th-month body mass index and gastric volume.
Methods: The patients who underwent laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy between January 2019 and February 2021 were divided into two groups preoperatively. The first 75 patients were appointed to the posterior fixation group, and the second 75 were to the control group.
Objectives: The thesis of this paper is that health and safety challenges of working people can only be fully understood by examining them as wholes with interacting parts. This paper unravels this indispensable whole by introducing the working life exposome and elucidating how associated epistemologies and methodologies can enhance empirical research.

In this study, we evaluated the olfactory functions by using a Sniffin' Sticks test battery, which is a reliable and semi quantitative test to evaluate for olfactory dysfunction.

Objectives: The study's primary objective was to compare the quality of life (QoL) and external auditory canal (EAC) hygiene among patients who underwent bony mastoid obliteration or meatoplasty after canal wall down (CWD) mastoidectomy.
Methods: A prospective, observational, controlled cohort study was conducted at our tertiary referral university hospital. Twenty-eight patients older than 16 years of age with chronic otitis media who underwent CWD mastoidectomy were included.
Our study aimed to determine the level of coronavirus-related health literacy among school administrators and the factors that influence this. The sample of this cross-sectional study consisted of 402 school administrators serving in primary, secondary and high schools in Ankara. The data were collected between September 2021 and February 2022 using the descriptive characteristics questionnaire and the Coronavirus-Related Health Literacy Questionnaire (HLS-COVID-Q22).
