Variable Presentations of Emphysematous Liver Abscesses: Experiences From Four Cases at a Tertiary Care Center.

Emphysematous liver abscesses usually present with fever and abdominal pain with radiological investigations showing air inside the abscess cavity and biochemical parameters suggestive of sepsis. This is a condition that needs urgent intervention, but it can present with variable presentations and the gas under the right dome of the diaphragm makes the diagnosis in dilemma, confusing it with hollow viscous perforation. Hereby we present a case series of variable presentations of emphysematous liver abscesses, successfully managed by timely intervention.

The photorelease of a bidentate ligand from the Ru-center is better suited for potent Ru(II)-based photocytotoxic agents with two available labile sites for cross-linking with biological targets augmented with possible phototriggered O generation. Herein, we introduced a phenyl-terpyridine (ptpy) ligand in the octahedral Ru(II) core of [Ru(ptpy)(L-L)Cl] to induce structural distortion for the possible photorelease of electronically distinct bidentate ligands (L-L).

Through a comprehensive examination of the patient's clinical trajectory, diagnostic challenges, and subsequent management, this report contributes to the expanding knowledge base on atypical vascular complications in surgical settings.

Primary Right Adrenal Teratoma in a Postmenopausal Female: a Case Report and Review of Literature.

We report a rare case of a primary right adrenal teratoma in a postmenopausal female, presenting with abdominal pain. Ultrasound revealed a complex cystic shadow in the perihepatic region superior to the upper pole of the right kidney, which was suggestive of a complex supra-renal space-sequence-occupying lesion.

Solitary plasmacytoma of the breast is an extremely rare neoplastic entity characterized by the localized proliferation of neoplastic plasma cells within the breast tissue that requires careful consideration due to its clinical and radiological resemblance to more common breast malignancies. While plasmacytomas are typically associated with multiple myeloma (MM), primary involvement of the breast as a solitary lesion is exceptionally rare. In this report, we present a case of solitary plasmacytoma of the breast in a 55-year-old female patient who presented with a palpable breast mass and no signs of systemic multiple myeloma.

Guided Needle Aspirations of Intra-Abdominal Masses: Analogy between Liquid-Based and Conventional Smear Preparation Methods.

Objective: Image-guided fine needle aspiration cytology with conventional smear (CS) preparation offers onsite cellular adequacy evaluation; however, it still provides false negatives due to faulty smear preparations. Liquid-based cytology (LBC) can be advantageous in these scenarios. Hence, with an aim to investigate utility of LBC in these samples, we carried out the above study with objectives to find diagnostic accuracy of LBC and agreement of LBC with CS methods in guided aspiration samples from intra-abdominal masses.
