Article Synopsis
- The study focused on the prevalence of potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) among elderly patients discharged from a hospital using three different criteria.
- 276 elderly patients, with a median age of 74, were observed, revealing a high PIM prevalence: STOPP identified 393 PIMs in 69% of patients, while EU(7)-PIM and comprehensive protocols found lower rates.
- The STOPP version 2 criteria proved to be the most effective in detecting PIMs, highlighting the need for strategies to minimize inappropriate prescriptions during patient discharge.

Objective: The benefit of intravenous thrombolysis in patients with internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion is still unclear. The aim of this study was to assess the influence on outcome of intravenous thrombolysis in patients with ICA occlusion comparing to those without it.
Methods: Data were from the national register of all acute ischemic stroke patients treated with intravenous thrombolysis in Serbia.
