Objective: The objective of this study was to examine the impact of "Tianyu" Pairing on oxidative stress in the development of Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and approach its potential mechanism using cell experiments.
Methods: A cell model of RA was developed by stimulating rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes (RA-FLS) with tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). This model aimed to assess the impact of serum containing Rhodiola rosea-Euonymus alatus drug pair (TYP) on inflammation and oxidative stress in the development of RA, specifically through the Keap1/Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.
Purpose: The present study aimed to explore the potential components and mechanisms of Rhodiola rosea-Euonymus alatus drug pair (TY) that ameliorate rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
Methods: The main active components, core targets, and important pathways of TY against RA were predicted by network pharmacology analysis. The binding activity between the main active components and the core targets was verified by the molecular docking technique.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Sanhuang ointment (SHO) has been widely used in the traditional Chinese medical system for 1500 years and has efficacy in clearing away heat and dampness, reducing swelling, and alleviating pain. Hemorrhoids will damage the normal physiological function of the body, resulting in obstructed defecation, accompanied by massive hemorrhage and necrosis of tissues and cells, which is easy to breed bacteria and cause infection. SHO can promote lesion healing in hemorrhoid rats, but the pharmacological mechanism underlying this effect remains unknown.
