Three previously undescribed protoilludane-type sesquiterpene aryl esters, armillanals A-C (1-3), along with seven known ones (4-10) were obtained from Armillaria gallica Marxm. & Romagn. Compounds 1 and 2 were a rare class of sesquiterpenes featuring the Δ and Δ-protoilludane skeleton.

The chemical structures of compounds and were established by 1D, 2D NMR, HRESIMS analysis, and calculating electronic circular dichroism (ECD). The structures of known compounds - were determined by comparison of their spectral with those reported.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that voice changes occur in patients with pulmonary diseases. The purpose of this study is to explore the differences in phonetic characteristics between patients with PNs and able-bodied persons.

Based on the analysis of the present situation of standardization of moxibustion, it is found that the published standards of acupuncture and moxibustion are predominated at acupoint standard and acupuncture manipulation standard. Moxibusiton standardization mainly focuses on the manipulation. It is relatively lack of the standards of moxibustion materials and device.

We explore a promising framework in two dimensions, the Dirac spin liquid (DSL) - quantum electrodynamics (QED) with 4 Dirac fermions coupled to photons. Importantly, its excitations include magnetic monopoles that drive confinement.

The Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model describes a (0+1)D quantum cluster with random all-to-all four-fermion interactions among N fermion modes which becomes exactly solvable as N→∞, exhibiting a zero-dimensional non-Fermi-liquid with emergent conformal symmetry and complete absence of quasiparticles. Here we study a lattice of complex-fermion SYK dots with random intersite quadratic hopping.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe investigate the generic features of the low energy dynamical spin structure factor of the Kitaev honeycomb quantum spin liquid perturbed away from its exact soluble limit by generic symmetry-allowed exchange couplings. We find that the spin gap persists in the Kitaev-Heisenberg model, but generally vanishes provided more generic symmetry-allowed interactions exist. We formulate the generic expansion of the spin operator in terms of fractionalized Majorana fermion operators according to the symmetry enriched topological order of the Kitaev spin liquid, described by its projective symmetry group.

Here, we demonstrate that this efficiency may be improved by cascading subwavelength unidirectional SPP launching units. A unidirectional SPP launching efficiency of at least 46% and an extinction ratio of 40 are experimentally demonstrated using a cascade asymmetric-groove structure.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe canonical understanding of quantum oscillation in metals is challenged by the observation of the de Haas-van Alphen effect in an insulator, SmB_{6} [Tan et al, Science 349, 287 (2015)]. Based on a two-band model with inverted band structure, we show that the periodically narrowing hybridization gap in magnetic fields can induce the oscillation of low-energy density of states in the bulk, which is observable provided that the activation energy is small and comparable to the Landau level spacing. Its temperature dependence strongly deviates from the Lifshitz-Kosevich theory.
