To assess the heterogeneity of HBV reverse transcriptase (RT) quasispecies during 10 years of antiviral therapy and their association with antiviral efficacy. Nineteen patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) infection receiving nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs) were enrolled. Based on the antiviral efficacy after 1 year of treatment, 5 patients were grouped into an early virologic response (EVR) group, while 8 patients were grouped into a late virologic response (LVR) group.

Article Synopsis
  • China lacks sufficient data on how cervical neoplastic lesions relate to CD4 T-lymphocyte counts and antiretroviral therapy (ART) in HIV-infected women, indicating a need for further research.
  • A study involving 545 HIV-infected women in Yunnan, China, found that higher CD4 counts and longer ART use were associated with lower odds of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN1+), suggesting potential protective effects.
  • While the overall findings showed an inverse relationship between CD4 counts and CIN1+, ART's impact was less consistent, with significant interactions noted based on ethnicity and geographical location.
