Although approaches for the online surface detection of automotive pipelines exist, low defect area rates, small-sample and long-tailed data, and the difficulty of detection due to the variable morphology of defects are three major problems faced when using such methods. In order to solve these problems, this study combines traditional visual detection methods and deep neural network technology to propose a transfer learning multi-channel fusion decision network without significantly increasing the number of network layers or the structural complexity. Each channel of the network is designed according to the characteristics of different types of defects.

Suboptimal spatial utilization and inefficient access to internal porosity preclude porous carbon cathodes from delivering high energy density in zinc-ion hybrid capacitors (ZIHCs). Inspired by the function of capillaries in biological systems, this study proposes a facile coordination-pyrolysis method to fabricate thin-walled hollow carbon nanofibers (CNFs) with optimized pore structure and surface functional groups for ZHICs. The capillary-like CNFs maximize the electrode/electrolyte interface area, facilitating the optimal utilization of energy storage sites.

Accumulating studies have highlighted the links between stress-related networks and the HPA axis for emotion regulation and proved the mapping associations between altered structural and functional networks (called SC-FC coupling) in depression. However, the signatures of SC-FC coupling in subthreshold depression (StD) individuals and their relationships with HPA axis reactivity, as well as the predictive power of these combinations for discriminating StD, remain unclear. This cross-sectional study enrolled 160 adults, including 117 StD and 43 healthy controls (HC).

Article Synopsis
  • THBS1 is a secreted protein linked to cancer progression, with high levels found in pancreatic cancer (PC) correlating to poorer patient outcomes.
  • Functional experiments demonstrated that reducing THBS1 levels decreased PC cell growth and increased cell death, suggesting it promotes cancer cell survival and movement.
  • The study indicates that THBS1 influences cancer behavior primarily through the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway, and its suppression also slowed tumor growth in animal models.

Article Synopsis
  • Global change can impact soil carbon inputs, which in turn affect microbial communities and ecological functions.
  • A 13-year study in semi-arid grasslands showed that adding litter did not change microbial diversity, but removing it significantly decreased bacterial and fungal diversity due to less carbon and moisture.
  • Removing plants had an even greater negative effect on microbial diversity and ecosystem multifunctionality, emphasizing the crucial role of plant-derived carbon in maintaining healthy soil ecosystems.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly aggressive and lethal malignancy characterized by dysregulated energy and stromal metabolism. It is strongly supported by activated pancreatic stellate cells (PSC) which drive excessive desmoplasia and tumor growth via metabolic crosstalk. Herein, a programmed nanosystem is designed to dual rectify the metabolism abnormalities of the PDAC cells, which overexpress glucose transporter 1(GLUT1) and CD71, and the PSC for oncotherapy.

For decades, research has largely focused on the generation of high-affinity, antigen-specific antibodies during viral infections. This emphasis has made it challenging for immunologists to systematically evaluate the mechanisms initiating humoral immunity in specific immune responses. In this study, we employ ordinary differential equations (ODE) to investigate the dynamic reshaping of the entire antibody repertoire in response to viral infections.
