The use of video clickstream data to predict university students' test performance: A comprehensive educational data mining approach.

Video clickstream behaviors such as pause, forward, and backward offer great potential for educational data mining and learning analytics since students exhibit a significant amount of these behaviors in online courses. The purpose of this study is to investigate the predictive relationship between video clickstream behaviors and students' test performance with two consecutive experiments. The first experiment was performed as an exploratory study with 22 university students using a single test performance measure and basic statistical techniques.

Enablers and Barriers of Blended Learning in Faculty Development.

Introduction Online learning provides a ubiquitous and self-paced learning experience, while face-to-face learning encourages commitment in a prescheduled formal instruction. Blended learning (BL) combines these two mediums and provides flexible learning opportunities. While faculty development programs have utilized these two mediums separately, BL has not been fully implemented locally until recently.

Designing and developing an accessible web-based assistive technology for students with visual impairment.

This article introduces the design principles of a web-based assistive technology (WAT) developed for students with visual impairment (VI). The pedagogical goal guiding the development process was the enhancement of vocabulary knowledge for students studying English as a foreign language (EFL) in terms of their spelling and semantics. The study attempted to overcome the problems of individuals with VI through provision of an accessible and suitable learning environment.

Instructional technology adoption of medical faculty in teaching.

Despite large investment by higher education institutions in technology for faculty and student use, instructional technology is not being integrated into instructions in the higher education institutions, including medical education institutions. While diffusion of instructional technologies has been reached a saturation point with early adopters of technology, it has remained limited among mainstream faculty. This study explored technology adoption patterns and perceptions of medical faculty about barriers and incentives to technology adoption in teaching.
