Article Synopsis
  • The study classifies papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) into two types: RAS-like (indolent) and BRAF-like (aggressive) based on specific gene mutations.
  • It investigates differences in clinicopathology and protein expression (pERK1/2) between these two PTC types using a sample of 222 cases, applying statistical models to predict mutations.
  • Key findings suggest specific factors (like nuclear score and histology subtype) can independently predict V600E mutations, with distinct predictive models indicating biological behavior differences between BRAF-like and RAS-like tumors.

Approximately 60%-70% of breast cancer patients in Indonesia are diagnosed in the locally advanced stage. The stage carries a higher risk of lymph node metastasis which increases susceptibility to lymph obstruction. Hence, breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) could present before axillary lymph node dissection (ALND).

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effects of melatonin on patients with locally advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy, focusing on its impact on miR-210 and CD44 expression, which are related to tumor resistance and hypoxia.
  • Results showed that melatonin administration led to a decrease in miR-210 and CD44 levels, as well as a reduction in the percentage of residual tumor, but these changes were not statistically significant.
  • The conclusion suggests that while adding melatonin to chemotherapy may reduce certain tumor markers and tumor residue in OSCC patients, the effects were not significant enough to draw definitive conclusions.
