Creating and sustaining a digital community of practice for quality improvement in South-East Asia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Introduction: Ensuring quality of care in Low and Middle Income countries (LMICs) is challenging. Despite the implementation of various quality improvement (QI) initiatives in public and private sectors, the sustenance of improvements continues to be a major challenge. A team of healthcare professionals in India developed a digital community of practice (dCoP) focusing on QI which now has global footprints.

Diagnostic algorithm for pathological evaluation of gliomas in a resource-constrained setting.

Introduction: Gliomas are the most common primary intracranial tumors. The current World Health Organization (WHO) classification of central nervous system tumors recommends integrated histo-molecular diagnosis of gliomas. However, molecular testing is not available in even most of the advanced centers of our country, and histopathology aided with immunohistochemistry (IHC) is still widely used for diagnosis.

Comparative Efficacy of Cow Milk, KNO3, and Warm Saline Rinses in Treating Dentin Hypersensitivity Following Nonsurgical Periodontal Treatment: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Aim: This study aimed to assess the desensitizing efficacy of commercially available cow milk compared to potassium nitrate (KNO) mouthwash and warm saline rinses after nonsurgical periodontal treatment.

Materials And Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted in the Department of Public Health Dentistry of a dental college from August 21, 2018 to September 10, 2018. A total of 75 patients who reported hypersensitivity after scaling and root planing (SRP) were recruited and randomly assigned into three groups: cow milk (I), KNO mouthwash (II), and warm saline rinses (III).

Assessment of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice Regarding Oral Cancer among Dental Graduates-A Web-Based Survey.

The present study was conducted to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice among new dental graduates across India. A web-based questionnaire was generated as a link through Google Drive which was sent to approximately 250 dental graduates using Whatsapp messenger. A total of 205 complete responses were received and analyzed.

Cysticercosis is a parasitic infestation caused by the larvae of the tapeworm . In humans, cysticercosis spreads through fecal-oral route by ingesting food contaminated with eggs of pork tapeworm. The most frequent sites affected are central nervous system, eye, subcutaneous tissue, and skeletal muscle.

Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor of the Breast Mimicking Malignancy in an Elderly Male.

Background: Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare, distinctive lesion composed of a proliferation of myofibroblastic spindle cells accompanied by an inflammatory infiltrate. It was first described in the lung, but its occurrence at various extrapulmonary sites has also been reported. The literature mentions only a handful of cases of IMT in the breast and only 1 case in the male breast.

Collision of Malignant Melanoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Rectum: First Report of a Rare Tumor.

The term collision tumor is used to describe two neoplasms occurring in the same anatomic location with juxtaposition of different tumor elements. Such a coexistence of tumors anywhere in the body is relatively rare. We report a case of 32-year-old female with collision tumor of rectum.

Pulmonary fibrotic response to inhalation of ZnO nanoparticles and toluene co-exposure through directed flow nose only exposure chamber.

The increasing use of Zinc Oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) in paint industry is not supplemented with adequate toxicology data. This report focuses on the fibrogenic toxicity caused due to co-exposure of ZnONPs and toluene in male Wistar rats, exposed for 28 days, through directed flow nose only exposure chamber. The rats were grouped as air control, toluene control (200 ppm), zinc oxide control (10 mg/m(3)), low dose co-exposed (5 mg/m(3) ZnO and 200 ppm of toluene) and high dose co-exposed (10 mg/m(3) of ZnO and 200 ppm of toluene).
