Background: The Pectus carinatum is an outward protrusion deformity of the sternum and adjacent costal cartilages. It is the second most common congenital deformity of the anterior chest wall, commonly occuring in adolescents.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate thoracic morphological changes using computed tomography (CT) imaging in patients with pectus carinatum treated via the modified Abramson technique at Viet Duc University Hospital from 2020 to 2023.
This paper investigates the performance of hybrid radio frequency/free space optical (RF/FSO) systems combined with non-orthogonal multiple access communications technology. We examine a scenario where the source and destination are separated by a large distance, with no direct link between them. The relay, denoted R, operates using the decode-and-forward (DF) protocol.

We developed a novel vaccine delivery carrier, a chitosan-coated polylactic acid/poloxamer nanoparticle (CPP NP), designed to co-encapsulate an anticancer drug and antigen without any chemical conjugation process, enabling effective and synergistic cancer chemo-immunotherapy. The CPP NP achieved synergistic efficacy through paclitaxel (PTX), an immunogenic cell death-inducing chemotherapeutic agent; ovalbumin (OVA), which promotes dendritic cell maturation; and enhanced cellular uptake facilitated by chitosan.

Here, we developed Pht-loaded polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) micelles (Pht@PVP MC) via micelle packing. Pht was solubilized using different types of PVP as micellar vehicles.

The nature of these effects is due to the formation and thickness of the irradiating sample, which significantly causes neutron self-absorption and multiple scattering inside the sample volume. The datasets presented in this article showed the thermal (G) and epithermal (G) neutron self-shielding correction factors for the W(n,γ)W neutron capture reaction rate in irradiating tungsten (W) foil samples with different thicknesses.

This paper outlines initial findings from an ongoing research endeavor that centers on implementing Lean Construction (LC) techniques to enhance construction management practices specifically for marble floor finishing work within Vietnam. Therefore, this study aims to apply the construction lean principle combined with discrete-event simulation (DES) by using EZStrobe to simulate the marble floor finishing process in reality, from observing and collecting data of each activity in the actual process on the site.

However, the association with new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF) after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is still controversial. This study aimed to investigate the association between HRV and new-onset AF in patients undergoing CABG during a 6-month follow-up.

Methods: In a retrospective cohort study, 635 feedback narratives, provided by small groups of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences undergraduate students, have been extracted from available quarterly curriculum evaluation surveys. A rubric was developed based on literature and contents of our feedback education.
There is an increasing need for an independent terrestrial navigation system, owing to the increasing reliance on global navigation satellite systems (GNSS). The medium-frequency range (MF R-Mode) system is considered a promising alternative; however, the skywave effect caused by ionospheric changes at night can degrade its positioning accuracy. To address this problem, we developed an algorithm to detect and mitigate the skywave effect on MF R-Mode signals.

Various optimization techniques have been developed to solve time-cost trade-off problems. A hybrid multi-verse optimizer model (hDMVO) is introduced in this study, which combines the multi-verse optimizer (MVO) and the sine cosine algorithm (SCA) to address the discrete time-cost trade-off problem (DTCTP).

The proposed structure can be mechanically switched between two different configurations to obtain designated absorption behaviors. By rotating the upper ring layer by multiples of 90 deg, two separated absorption modes of the MA are created.

To date, clinical data regarding the combination of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) for the treatment of dengue-associated PALF are limited.
Methods: We conducted a single-center, retrospective study of all children with dengue-associated PALF admitted to the paediatric intensive care unit of Children Hospital No.
This study presents the Slime Mold Algorithm (SMA) to solve the time-cost-quality trade-off problem in a construction project. The proposed SMA is a flexible and efficient algorithm in exploration and exploitation to reach the best optimal solution to process the input model's data. This paper aims to discuss and solve the optimization problem and compare the evaluation with other algorithms such as Opposition-based Multiple Objective Differential Evolution, Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm, Multiple objective particle swarm optimization, Multiple objective differential evolution and Chaotic initialized multiple objective differential evolution (CAMODE) to verify the efficiency and potential of the proposed algorithm.

CLAS broadcasts the state-space representation of correction messages along with integrity messages regarding satellite faults and the quality index of each correction. In other GNSS augmentation systems, such as the space-based augmentation system (SBAS) of GNSS, the quality indices of correction messages are used to generate fault-free protection levels that represent a position bound containing a true user position with a probability of missed detections.

Such reactions can be fatal, even on the first reaction, although it very rarely happens. The use of veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA ECMO) in refractory anaphylactic shock was previously described.
