This article describes nail unit incision lines (NUIL) with a similar perspective. NUIL are followed by nail surgeons to help regrowth of a normal nail; however, they are not widely understood or respected during nail surgery.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) is a genodermatosis, characterized both by premature aging and significantly increased risk of non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers at an early age. However, limited literature is available on the common histopathological subtypes of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) in these patients.
Methods: In this ambispective case series, we recruited patients of XP who had either a currently present skin tumor or previously excised one, provided their histopathological sections were available.
A 45-year-old male presented with a 2-year history of erythematous indurated plaques on the right palate and adjacent palatobuccal mucosa, accompanied by dull pain and loosening of the third molar, necessitating extraction. Radiological imaging revealed soft tissue density with cortical bony erosions in the bilateral upper alveolar ridge. A single sub-centimetric right cervical lymph node was palpable.

Background Increasing rates of macrolide and fluroquinolone resistance in Mycoplasma genitalium (MG) are being reported worldwide with resultant treatment failure. Aim We aimed to determine the level of antibiotic resistance of MG in men who have sex with men (MSM) attending a sexually transmitted infections (STIs) clinic in New Delhi, India. Methods Real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays targeting MgPa and pdhD genes were performed to detect MG rectal, urogenital or oropharyngeal infections in 180 MSM between January 2022 and June 2023.
