Background And Purpose: We aimed to evaluate factors associated with neurological worsening among patients with lacunar or non-lacunar infarction admitted within 3 hours and between 3 and 24 hours after stroke onset.

Methods: All patients admitted to Haukeland university hospital between 2006 and 2016 with acute cerebral infarction on MRI and admission within 24 hours were included. Repeated National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scoring was performed in all patients whenever possible.

Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most severe form of stroke, but data on readmission after ICH are sparse. We aimed to determine frequency, causes, and predictors of 30-day readmission after ICH.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study includes all spontaneous ICH survivors admitted to the stroke unit at Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen in Norway from July 2007 to December 2013.

Treatment of intracerebral haemorrhage with tranexamic acid - A review of current evidence and ongoing trials.

Purpose: Haematoma expansion is a devastating complication of intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) with no established treatment. Tranexamic acid had been an effective haemostatic agent in reducing post-operative and traumatic bleeding. We review current evidence examining the efficacy of tranexamic acid in improving clinical outcome after ICH.

Objective: To study employment in benign multiple sclerosis (MS), the frequency of employment was analysed and the effect of early clinical and demographic factors on time to disability pension was evaluated in a population based MS cohort. The frequency of depression, cognitive function, fatigue and pain between benign and non-benign MS patients was compared, and their impact on employment in benign MS was studied.

Methods: All 188 patients alive, including 60 benign patients with onset of MS during 1976-1986 in Hordaland County, Western Norway, were interviewed and clinically examined in 2003.

Progressive multifocal leucoencephalopathy in an immunocompetent patient with favourable outcome. A case report.

Background: To report the clinical course of PML in an apparently immunocompetent patient treated with cidofovir.

Case Presentation: A 35-year-old immunocompetent man who developed progressive hemianopsia, aphasia, and limb weakness underwent repeated MRI scans of the brain, spinal fluid analyses, and brain biopsy. Before diagnosis was established based on brain biopsy, he was consecutively treated with methylprednisolone, acyclovir, ceftriaxone and plasmapheresis, but he deteriorated rapidly suggestive of the immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS).
