Among the long non-coding RNAs that are currently recognized as important regulatory molecules influencing a plethora of processes in eukaryotic cells, circular RNAs (circRNAs) represent a distinct class of RNAs that are predominantly produced by back-splicing of pre-mRNA. The most studied regulatory mechanisms involving circRNAs are acting as miRNA sponges, forming R-loops with genomic DNA, and encoding functional proteins. In addition to circRNAs generated by back-splicing, two types of circRNAs capable of autonomous RNA-RNA replication and systemic transport have been described in plants: viroids, which are infectious RNAs that cause a number of plant diseases, and retrozymes, which are transcripts of retrotransposon genomic loci that are capable of circularization due to ribozymes.

Introduction: Prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is one of the most common diseases of elderly and senile men. Its natural "evolution" leads to an increase in deformity disorders, gradual decompensation of the bladder and the progression of CKD. If the morphogenesis of BPH, as well as the patterns of adaptive and pathological restructuring of the lower urinary tract are described in the literature, then there is practically no evidence of adaptive processes in the prostate itself against the background of the growth of hyperplasia nodes.

The audiological features of hearing loss (HL) in patients with autosomal recessive deafness type 1A (DFNB1A) caused by splice site variants of the GJB2 gene are less studied than those of patients with other variants of this gene. In this study, we present the audiological features of DFNB1A in a large cohort of 134 patients with the homozygous splice site variant c.-23+1G>A and 34 patients with other biallelic GJB2 genotypes (n = 168 patients with DFNB1A).

Movement proteins (MPs) encoded by plant viruses are essential for cell-to-cell transport of viral genomes through plasmodesmata. The genome of hibiscus green spot virus contains a module of two MP genes termed 'binary movement block' (BMB), encoding the proteins BMB1 and BMB2. Here, BMB1 is shown to induce a defense response in plants that inhibits BMB-dependent virus transport.

Background And Aims: Colorectal lesions measuring greater than 20 mm are unsuitable for en bloc endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR): piecemeal EMR (PM-EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) are needed. The European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) recommends ESD only for microinfiltrative lesions, although Japanese teams perform en bloc ESD for all lesions. To move from cell to cell through plasmodesmata, many plant viruses require the concerted action of two or more movement proteins (MPs) encoded by transport gene modules of virus genomes. A tetra-cistron movement block (TCMB) is a newly discovered transport module comprising four genes. TCMB encodes three proteins, which are similar to MPs of the transport module known as the "triple gene block", and a protein unrelated to known viral MPs and containing a double-stranded RNA (dsRNA)-binding domain similar to that found in a family of cell proteins, including AtDRB4 and AtHYL1.

As a continuation of our previous work, in this paper, we examine in greater detail the genome organization and some protein properties of the members of a potential group named Reclovirids and belonging to -related viruses. It can be proposed that the single-component Reclovirid genomes encode previously undiscovered transport genes. Indeed, analysis of the coding potential of these novel viral genomes reveals one or more cistrons ranging in size from 40 to 80 to about 600 codons, located in the 3'-terminal region of the genomic RNA, encoding proteins with predicted hydrophobic segments that are structurally diverse among Reclovirids and have no analogues in other plant RNA viruses.

The (Cx26) gene pathogenic variants are associated with autosomal recessive deafness type 1A (DFNB1A, OMIM #220290). Direct sequencing of the gene among 165 hearing-impaired individuals living in the Baikal Lake region of Russia identified 14 allelic variants: pathogenic/likely pathogenic-nine variants, benign-three variants, unclassified-one variant, and one novel variant. This paper focuses on the surface modification of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy substrate via a-C:H:SiO coating deposition. Research results concern the a-C:H:SiO coating structure, investigated using transmission electron microscopy and in vitro endothelization to study the coating. Based on the analysis of the atomic radial distribution function, a model is proposed for the atomic short-range order structure of the a-C:H:SiO coating, and chemical bonds (C-O, C-C, Si-C, Si-O, and Si-Si) are identified.

The paper focuses on the dual high-power impulse magnetron sputtering of TiAlN coatings using short pulses of high power delivered to the target. The surface morphology, elemental composition, phase composition, hardness, wear resistance, and adhesive strength of TiAlN coatings with different Al contents were investigated on WC-Co substrates. The heat resistance of the TiAlN coating was determined with synchrotron X-ray diffraction.
