Multiple myeloma (MM) is a disease characterized by spatiotemporal heterogeneity of tumor clones. Different genetic aberrations can be observed simultaneously in tumor cells from different loci, and as the disease progresses, new subclones may appear. The role of liquid biopsy, which is based on the analysis of tumor DNA circulating in the blood plasma, continues to be explored in MM.

A retrospective single-center study included 64 patients (30 men, 34 women) with MM and kidney damage at the onset of the disease, aged 19 to 65 years (median 54), who underwent auto-HSCT from 2013 to 2019. 23 patients (36%) were dialysis-dependent at the time of diagnosis.

However, the use of medical treatment is potentially associated with various adverse events, among which infectious complications, malignant neoplasms, as well as myelotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, skin lesions and others. The risk of side effects depends on the type of drug therapy (5-aminosalicylates, thiopurines, biologicals, etc.

Materials And Methods: From 2013 to 2018, the study included 8 patients (6 men, 2 women) aged from 27 to 55 years (median 39 years) with MM who underwent allo-HSCT from a related HLA-identical donor (7 patients after auto-HSCT, in 1 case without previous auto-transplantation). All patients required 2 or more lines of induction therapy, while the achieved antitumor effect was unstable.
Aim: To assess the safety and efficacy of autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT) in multiple myeloma (MM) patients with dialysis-dependent renal failure.
Materials And Methods: During a period from May 2010 to December 2016 fourteen MM patients with dialysis-dependent renal failure aged 48 to 65 years underwent auto-HSCT. After the induction therapy complete response, very good partial response, partial response were documented in 64, 29, 7% of patients, respectively.
Procoagulant status was modeled in outbred female mice by single injection of cisplatin in a maximum tolerated dose and hemostasis parameters monitored over 30 days by methods of coagulogram and low-frequency piezothromboelastography (global test). Monitoring revealed waveform changes in the hemostatic potential: the structural and chronometric hypercoagulation recorded starting from the first day and attaining its maximum on days 5-7 was followed by hypocoagulation and returned to normocoagulation on day 30. This pattern reflects prolonged effect of cisplatin: formation of severe dysfunction of the endothelium providing the main anticoagulant pool of hemostasis (day 1) aggravated by disturbances of the plastic functions of the liver (days 15-20), and recovery (days 20-30).

Materials And Methods: A prospective study included 27 MM patients subjected to 18F-FDG and 11C-methionine PET/CT on day 100 after auto-HSCT. Obtained images were visually and semi - quantitatively analyzed.
Cytochrome p450-mediated metabolism of GRS (indolinone antiaggregant) and its effects on activities of cytochrome p450 isoenzymes were studied. Inhibition of 6 isomers of cytochrome p450 in human liver microsomes was studied with the use of specific substrates. It was found that human liver cytochrome p450 enzymes could not induce degradation of GRS and that GRS was not an inductor or inhibitor of cytochrome p450 family members 1A2, 2C9, 2C19, 2D6, 2C8, and 3A4.

Methods: The study included 21 patients (10 men/11 women) aged 23 to 73 years old with newly diagnosed MM complicated by plasmacytoma. Bone plasmacytoma was diagnosed in 14 patients, and extramedullary plasmacytoma was diagnosed in 7 patients.

One of the crucial risk factors for development of severe postthrombotic disease (PTD) is the recurrence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). New opportunities for pharmacological thromboprophylaxis of secondary thrombophilia were associated with the direct thrombin inhibitor-Dabigatran (Pradaxa; Boehringer Ingelheim, Germany). We aimed to investigate the daily pharmacodynamics of dabigatran in healthy volunteers and patients with PTD.

Changes in viscous characteristics of the whole blood recorded ex vivo during hemocoagulation allowed us to propose the concept of permanency of fibrinogenesis as the obligatory in vivo process determining the hemostatic potential, an integral characteristic of the hemocoagulation cycle providing sufficient blood fluidity and limiting extravasation of blood components under conditions of permeability disturbances and damage to the vascular wall.

It was shown that enzyme activities are distributed in the fish intestine in an irregular manner; the gradient of protease and lipase activities along the gut is presented. Following the infection of bream by cestodes, the activities of the studied enzymes decreased and the percentages of activities of various proteinase subclasses changed.

Original version of intraosseous plate implant of beam type was elaborated intended for patients with end dentition defects, fool absence of teeth on maxilla with sharp reduction of alveolar process. On the stage of working out the distribution of deflected mode status developed in jaw bone structures under the influence of alternate loads on the system implant-prosthetic device was studied. In the period from 1995 to 2003 to 143 patients with partial or full loss of teeth and sharp reduction of maxilla alveolar process 205 intraosseous beam type implants were installed.

The results of the clinical studies indicate that DNAase treatment of the patients with maxillofacial abscesses and phlegmons increases the effect of antibacterial therapy. During microbiologic testing in the patients treated with DNAase together with antibacterial therapy it was recorded a marked decrease in the plating of bacteria. This effect is supposed to be connected with enzyme ability to penetrate into microbial biofilms and disturb microbial interactions.
