The COVID-19 Pandemic increased the prevalence and severity of insomnia and depression symptoms. The effects of an insomnia intervention on future insomnia and depression symptoms delivered during an ongoing stressor, which may have precipitated the insomnia symptoms, is unknown. We conducted a two-arm randomized controlled pilot study to evaluate whether an insomnia intervention would improve the trajectory of insomnia and depression symptoms in the context of a global pandemic.

Renovascular hypertension (RVHT) is an important cause of secondary hypertension, accounting for approximately 75% of cases. This pictorial review describes the imaging modalities used to diagnose RVHT, including ultrasound, computed tomography angiography, and magnetic resonance angiography, provides their benefits and limitations, and explores the imaging findings, diagnostic criteria, and management of multiple causes of RVHT. Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of RVHT, particularly in older individuals, while fibromuscular dysplasia is more prevalent in younger females.

Purpose: As part of the process of developing specific recommendations for modifying certain elements of the Consensus Auditory Perceptual Evaluation of Voice (CAPE-V) to promote end-user fidelity, the authors sought input from voice clinicians who regularly use the CAPE-V to assess voice quality.

Method: At an academic meeting focusing on voice disorders, we presented a poster briefly reviewing the CAPE-V protocol and describing several sources of variability that have been reported in its current use. Interested viewers were directed to a QR code linking to a brief, anonymous survey on how individuals currently use the CAPE-V and how they might improve it.

Background: Dry Afromontane forests play a vital role in mitigating climate change by sequestering and storing carbon, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Despite previous research highlighting the importance of carbon stocks in these ecosystems, the influence of canopy cover and environmental factors on carbon storage in dry Afromontane forests has been barely assessed. This study addresses this knowledge gap by investigating the effects of environmental factors and vegetation cover on carbon stocks in Desa'a forest, a unique and threatened Afromontane dry forest ecosystem in northern Ethiopia.

Global health photography has historically been commissioned and, therefore, dominated by the gaze of Western photographers on assignments in the Global South. This is changing as part of international calls to decolonise global health and stimulate 'empowerment', spawning a growing initiative to hire local photographers. This article, based on interviews with global health photographers, reflects on this paradigm shift.

Arthritogenic alphaviruses, including chikungunya virus (CHIKV), Mayaro virus (MAYV), Ross River virus (RRV), and O'nyong nyong virus (ONNV) are emerging and reemerging viruses that cause disease characterized by fever, rash, and incapacitating joint swelling. Alphavirus infection induces robust immune responses in infected hosts, leading to the upregulation of several cytokines and chemokines, including chemokine C ligand 4 (CCL4). CCL4 is a chemoattractant for immune cells such as T cells, natural killer cells, monocytes/macrophages, and dendritic cells, recruiting these cells to the site of infection, stimulating the release of proinflammatory mediators, and inducing T cell differentiation.
