Introduction: Recent guidance from the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) recommends remuneration for all Alzheimer's disease (AD) research participants. Given AD research recruitment challenges, we assessed the remuneration practices at Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRCs).
Methods: We surveyed 37 ADRCs about remuneration for longitudinal research participants.
A series of Ni complexes bearing a redox and acid-base noninnocent tetraamido macrocyclic ligand, H-(TAML-4) {H-(TAML-4) = 15,15-dimethyl-5,8,13,17-tetrahydro-5,8,13,17-tetraaza-dibenzo[]cyclotridecene-6,7,14,16-tetraone}, with formal oxidation states of Ni, Ni, and Ni were synthesized and characterized structurally and spectroscopically. The X-ray crystallographic analysis of the Ni complexes revealed a square planar geometry, and the [Ni(TAML-4)] complex with the formal oxidation state of Ni was characterized to be [Ni(TAML-4)] with the oxidation state of the Ni ion and the one-electron oxidized TAML-4 ligand, TAML-4. The Ni oxidation state and the TAML-4 radical cation ligand, TAML-4, were supported by X-ray absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations.

Methods: This was a Phase 3, 28-week, multicentre, double-blind, placebo-controlled study evaluating the efficacy and safety of a single IA injection of LOR. Patients with ACR-defined knee OA, Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grades 2-3, and pain Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) ≥4 and ≤8 in the target knee were randomised (1:1) to receive LOR 0.
Objectives: To determine the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of intraarticular (IA) lorecivivint (LOR) in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (OA).
Methods: Patients with American College of Rheumatology criteria-defined knee OA, Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grades 2-3, and medial Joint Space Width (JSW) by radiograph between 1.5 and 4 mm in the target knee were enrolled in this phase 3, 56-week, multicentre, double-blind, placebo-controlled study.
Iron(IV)-oxo intermediates found in iron enzymes and artificial catalysts are competent for H atom abstraction in catalytic cycles. For = 2 intermediates, both axial and equatorial approaches are well-established. The mechanism for = 1 sites is not as well understood: an equatorial approach is more energetically favorable, and an axial approach requires crossing from the = 1 to the = 2 surface.

Design & Setting: Participants were randomized to a weight management intervention (Stability, Loss, or Bibliotherapy); all participants received a standard smoking cessation program. Adults aged 18+ were recruited from Memphis, TN, and nationally.
Introduction: Healthy gestational weight gain (GWG) is associated with improved pregnancy and delivery outcomes. Previous literature shows provider advice and expectations regarding GWG significantly associated with GWG outcomes. In this study, we explore the influence of these factors on GWG in a military population in this secondary analysis of data from a randomized controlled trial.

This study assessed treatment outcomes and factors associated with unfavorable treatment outcomes among RR/MDR-TB patients in Southwestern Oromia, Ethiopia.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective study was conducted on 226 RR/MDR-TB patients (six extrapulmonary and 220 pulmonary) treated under a national TB program between 2013 and 2022 at five treatment facilities in Southwestern Oromia, Ethiopia.
Background: Effective leadership and management practices contribute to responsible, high-quality research and the well-being of team members. We describe the development and initial validation of a measure assessing principal investigators' leadership and management practices and a measure of research team practices.
Methods: Using a cross-sectional survey design, 570 postdoctoral researchers funded by the National Institutes of Health reported on the perceived behaviors of their principal investigator (PI) and the research team.
Omics-based measurements enable the study of biomolecules in a high-throughput fashion, leading to the characterization and quantification of biological systems. Multi-omics methods aim to incorporate several omics measurements for a more holistic approach, which is crucial for advancing our understanding of the diversity and redundancy of biological systems. Current multi-omics sample preparation methods have achieved proteomics, lipidomics, and metabolomics from individual samples; however, the bioinformatic tools currently available for interpreting data generated from these omics are limited.

It is even more unusual to be complicated by bowel herniation and intestinal obstruction. Proper evaluation and intervention are required to ameliorate the attendant morbidity.

However, existing 2-π multislice SPEN schemes fail to keep consistent SNRs and contrasts with different numbers of slice settings. This work proposes a new multislice SPEN scheme (SPENms) to achieve stable quality imaging in portable low-field MRI systems.

Non-heme iron enzymes play key roles in antibiotic, neurotransmitter, and natural product biosynthesis, DNA repair, hypoxia regulation, and disease states. These enzymes had been refractory to traditional bioinorganic spectroscopic methods. Thus, we developed variable-temperature variable-field magnetic circular dichroism (VTVH MCD) spectroscopy to experimentally define the excited and ground ligand field states of non-heme ferrous enzymes (Solomon et al.

We sought to describe the use of droxidopa for vasopressor weaning in critically ill patients with prolonged hypotension.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective, single-arm, observational study included adult patients admitted to an ICU at two academic centers between 06/2016-07/2023 who received droxidopa for vasopressor weaning.
Objective: We attempted to conduct a randomized controlled trial of three different informed consent training formats to evaluate their effectiveness. We recruited 503 clinical research professionals, who received $50 for participation. Incidental findings showed unexpectedly low rates of compliance with completing the study training protocols, resulting in insufficient statistical power to test our original hypotheses.

Copper zeolites can activate methane at low temperatures and pressures, demonstrating promise for this technology. However, a barrier to industrial implementation is the inability to recycle the Cu(II) active site.
