Introduction: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a prevalent challenge faced by individuals following traumatic events. Given the substantial impact of PTSD on the well-being of young people, comprehensive assessment of the available evidence can inform more effective prevention and intervention strategies to support the mental health and resilience of children in the African context. Despite its high incidence, there has been no up-to-date systematic synthesis of evidence to measure the magnitude of PTSD in pediatric populations in Africa.
