Trans-resveratrol affects biological systems in a multitude of ways, but its oral bioavailability is remarkably poor due to in vivo metabolization. This drawback has fomented the development of new strategies for systemic delivery, such as transmucosal delivery via the vaginal route, which is our main focus here. In this sense, our pioneering study purposed to evaluate the trans-resveratrol permeation efficacy through this route.

Acute low back pain (LBP) is the fifth most common reason for physician visits and about nine out of ten adults experience back pain at some point in their life. In a large number of patients LBP is associated with disc herniation (DH). Recently, oxygen-ozone (O2O3) therapy has been used successfully in the treatment of LBP, reducing pain after the failure of other conservative treatments.

A case of primary biliary cirrhosis occurred during the first quarter of pregnancy in a 29-years-old primipara is described. Possible relationships with a former anti-hepatitis B vaccination and with positive familiarity reduction of IgA are discussed. Follow-up to the patient after two years therapy with colchicine 1 mg a day is also described.
