Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common infectious agents in children. It causes a broad spectrum of infections ranging from trivial to severe life-threatening presentations. The possibility of complications in case of Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB) appears to be high, being described in up to 43% of cases in adult patients.
