Background: Penile cancer is a relatively rare neoplasm in developed countries, with the majority of newly diagnosed cases presenting as organ-confined, with a 5-year survival rate of 90%. Therefore, it is crucial to consider the impact of penile tumor resection on sexual and urinary function. Regrettably, the literature is devoid of comprehensive, step-by-step video instructions for the surgical procedure of partial penectomy with reconstruction using a split-thickness skin graft (0.

Article Synopsis
  • COVID-19 vaccines are effective and safe, but they have been linked to cutaneous side effects, including cases of primary cutaneous lymphomas (CLs), prompting this systematic review to explore the potential relationship.
  • A review of literature from various databases identified 12 studies with 24 patients, revealing that the majority of CLs were indolent cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, mainly occurring after mRNA-based vaccine doses.
  • The findings suggest a possible association between COVID-19 vaccines and CLs, likely due to immune responses, but more research is necessary to establish a clear causal link, especially for patients with prior lymphoproliferative disorders.

Skin adverse reactions to diabetes medical devices have been reported frequently over recent years. Adhesives attaching glucose sensors and continuous insulin infusion sets to the skin are proven to cause both allergic contact dermatitis and irritant contact dermatitis in patients with diabetes mellitus. Several allergens contained in adhesives and/or parts of medical devices are documented to cause allergic contact dermatitis, with acrylate chemicals being the most common culprit-especially isobornyl acrylate (IBOA), but also 2,2'-methylenebis(6-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol) monoacrylate or cyanoacrylates.

Background: The nuclear factor-κB transcription factors 1 and 2 (NFKB1 and NFKB2) are key components of the NF-κB pathway, which responds to inflammatory signals. Since the NFKB1/2 factors are activated via different inflammatory molecules, we aimed to check their expression levels in penile cancer (PC), penile dermatoses: lichen sclerosus (PLS) and zoon balanitis (ZB).

Methods: Skin biopsies from altered and healthy looking foreskin were obtained from 59 (49 LS; early PLS: 13, moderate PLS: 32, severe PLS: 4; 6 PC; 4 ZB) and unchanged foreskin from 13 healthy control adult males undergoing circumcision.

Introduction: Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) are malignant lymphoproliferative disorders accompanied by persistent pruritus. Pruritogenic role of interleukin-31 (IL-31) has been studied extensively and was proven in atopic dermatitis (AD), while its role in CTCL is still rather vague.

Aim: To investigate IL-31 serum level along with IL-31, IL-31 receptor α (IL-31RA) and oncostatin M receptor β (OSMR) skin expression in CTCL and compare it to controls: AD and healthy volunteers.

Microenvironment has a significant impact on the pathogenesis of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), especially in the context of new emerging biologic therapies. Our aim was to review the literature on interleukins 12, 17, 23 and tumour necrosis factor-α in mycosis fungoides in order to clarify the safety of using biologics in the treatment of psoriasis. Our analysis suggests that these drugs may have an impact on the progression of CTCL.

Purpose: To assess the expression of selected cytokines in penile lichen sclerosus (PLS) and associate them with the occurrence of micro-incontinence (MI) in different stages of PLS.

Methods: The skin biopsies from 49 PLS affected, and 13 from nonlesional foreskins (healthy control adult males undergoing circumcision due to phimosis caused by short frenulum) were obtained. All specimens were used for RNA extraction and RT-qPCR.

Article Synopsis
  • New and emerging therapies like dupilumab and upadacitinib are being explored for their effects on the microenvironment of primary cutaneous lymphomas (PCLs), particularly in patients with atopic dermatitis.
  • The study reviews the role of interleukins and JAK/STAT pathways in PCLs to assess the safety of biologics and small molecule inhibitors used in treatment.
  • Results indicate that some therapies may impact cutaneous lymphoma progression, warranting close patient monitoring and the need for biopsies in rapidly worsening cases, especially for those over 40.
