It is shown that acute alcohol intoxication in the tissues of white mice accelerates riboflavin metabolism. In this case arrival of the exogenous vitamin with accompanying depletion of its endogenous resources is observed to intensify.

The frequency of juvenile thyroid enlargement in Moscow adolescents over the last 25 yrs increased twice, among them in girls three times. During examination of 66 adolescents with juvenile thyroid enlargement without clinical signs of disorder of its function autoimmune processes in the thyroid were revealed in 62%, autoimmune thyroiditis in 15%. Pathogenetic interrelationship between a rise of the frequency of juvenile thyroid enlargement and a rise of autoimmune processes in the thyroid in Moscow adolescents has been assumed.

A study of TTH, T3 and T4 content in the blood serum of adolescents with juvenile thyroid enlargement showed changes which were typical of subclinical hypothyrosis. A conclusion is made about the necessity of a follow-up of children with juvenile thyroid enlargement and administration of pathogenetic therapy with thyroid hormonal drugs.
