Objective: To evaluate the platelet distribution width (PDW) and other platelet indices as potential severity markers of preeclampsia (PE).
Study Design: A total of 935 pregnant women who had received continuous prenatal care and had undergone delivery were included. The participants were classified into 3 groups: healthy pregnant women (n=816), pregnant women with mild PE (n=59), and pregnant women with severe PE (n=60).
Purpose: Preclinical data has demonstrated the potential of simvastatin to overcome cetuximab resistance in KRAS mutant CRC patients. Therefore, we designed a study using simvastatin/cetuximab/irinotecan for KRAS mutant CRC patients who are refractory to irinotecan and oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy.
Patients And Methods: In this phase II study, patients received 500 mg/m(2) cetuximab, 150-180 mg/m(2) (day 1), and 80 mg simvastatin (once daily, days 1-14, every 2 weeks).

Methods: High-resolution copy number data for 560 HGS-OvCa patients and gene expression data obtained from the TCGA database were analyzed to identify distinct molecular subgroups based on significant focal somatic copy number alterations (SCNAs).
Background: c-N-Methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitroso-guanidine HOS transforming gene (c-MET) is a new potential drug target for treatment of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and a recent study of a c-MET inhibitor in such patients has shown promising results. Materials And Methods: A gene set model to predict disease free survival was developed using the cDNA-mediated annealing, selection, extension, and ligation (DASL) assay data set from a cohort of early cervical cancer patients who had been treated with radical surgery with or without adjuvant therapy.
We performed the whole genome cDNA-mediated annealing, selection and ligation assay with 164 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumor samples to develop robust prognostic gene expression profiles in patients with diffuse large B cell lymphoma. The prognostic gene expression profiles were developed and validated by a gradient lasso and leave-one-out cross-validation process. We identified a set of genes whose expression provided prognostic indicators from whole data set (PRKCDBP, CASP10, FAM3C, KCNK12, MAN1A2, PRND, RAB1A, TMEM39B, SLC6A6, MMP12, FEM1B, C3orh37, RBP1, HK1, LOC400464, KIAA0746, and SLC25A23).

Methods: The clinicopathological features of high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGS-OvCa) patients with GOF p53 mutations were evaluated according to a comprehensive somatic mutation profile comprised of whole exome sequencing, mRNA expression, and protein expression profiles obtained from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).

Objective: To clarify the clinical features of severe postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) resulting from a ruptured pseudoaneurysm and to determine the efficacy of selective arterial embolization as a method of management.
Study Design: Eleven women who underwent selective arterial embolization for treatment of severe hemorrhage due to a ruptured pseudoaneurysm were identified from 2 hospitals within the past 5 years. A retrospective analysis was performed to identify the clinical characteristics of the hemorrhage and to evaluate the efficacy of arterial embolization.

Methods: Successful labor induction was defined as onset of active labor within 9 hours or delivery within 24 hours. The Bishop score, cervical length, and cervical elastographic parameters, including cervical area, mean elastographic index, and cervical hard area, were measured and analyzed by the image analyzer.
Detection of the anthrax toxin, the protective antigen (PA), at the attomolar (aM) level is demonstrated by an electrical aptamer sensor based on a chemically derived graphene field-effect transistor (FET) platform. Higher affinity of the aptamer probes to PA in the aptamer-immobilized FET enables significant improvements in the limit of detection (LOD), dynamic range, and sensitivity compared to the antibody-immobilized FET. Transduction signal enhancement in the aptamer FET due to an increase in captured PA molecules results in a larger 30 mV/decade shift in the charge neutrality point (Vg,min ) as a sensitivity parameter, with the dynamic range of the PA concentration between 12 aM (LOD) and 120 fM.

A channel of a networked R-GO film formed by self-assembly was incorporated as a sensing layer into a solution-gated FET structure for pH sensing and the detection of acetylcholine (Ach), which is a neurotransmitter in the nerve system, through enzymatic reactions. The fabricated R-GO FET was sensitive to protons (H(+)) with a pH sensitivity of 29 mV/pH in terms of the shift of the charge neutrality point (CNP), which is attributed to changes in the surface potential caused by the interaction of protons with OH surface functional groups present on the R-GO surface.
