Introduction: Item analysis (IA) is widely used to assess the quality of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The objective of this study was to perform a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative item analysis of two types of MCQs: single best answer (SBA) and extended matching questions (EMQs) currently in use in the Final Pediatrics undergraduate exam.
Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted.
