The impact of clinical audit on antibiotic prescribing in dental practice at Taibah University Dental Hospital.

There is evidence that antibiotics are sometimes prescribed inappropriately by dental practitioners, which can lead to undesirable outcomes. This study aimed to assess the impact of a clinical audit on antibiotic prescribing practices at Taibah University Dental Hospital in Madina, Saudi Arabia. The study retrospectively analyzed antibiotic-prescribing data for pediatric patients by dental interns and faculty members over a period of 8-months.

Diabetes Mellitus and Its Influence on Oral Health: Review.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most common diseases all over the world. The effect of this endocrine disease on body systems cannot be ignored, where its oral side effects are well distinguished. As this disease incident is increasing dramatically, it is essential for the health care providers to be fully aware of the disease diagnosis, management and to deal with it in a full confident.

Knowledge and attitude of dentists toward minimally invasive caries management in Almadinah Almunawwarah province, KSA.

Objective: Over time, the management of dental caries has shifted towards minimally invasive dentistry (MID) and more conservative and evidence-based strategies. Although most dental schools have begun to incorporate MID caries management strategies in their curriculum; it has yet to be established whether these strategies are being implemented in everyday practice. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the knowledge and attitude of dentists working in Almadinah Almunawwarah province in KSA with regards to the implementation of MID in caries management.

Glycated hemoglobin influence on periodontal status, pathogens and salivary interleukins in type II diabetic Tunisian subjects with chronic periodontitis.

Background/purpose: Studies have shown that there is a possible correlation between the amount of glycated hemoglobin and the periodontal status. The goal of this study was to investigate the relationship between glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and the prevalence of gingival pathogens and circulating interleukin levels in type II diabetic Tunisian subjects.

Material And Methods: The research included four groups; 30 healthy subjects (H group), 30 non-diabetic subjects suffering from chronic periodontitis (CP group).
