The effects of endogenous and exogenous catecholamines on hypoxic cardiac performance in red-bellied piranhas.

Catecholamines protect the fish heart during hypoxia. However, the humoral adrenergic stress response may only be invoked in extremis. We investigated the hypothesis that endogenous (e.
