Outbreak of dermatophilosis in horses possibly transmitted by sharing riding equipment.

The aim of this study is to describe an outbreak of dermatophilosis at an equestrian center in Castilla la Mancha (central Spain), which affected 16.6% (5/30) of the animals. Research was carried out to establish the mode of transmission and spread to other horses in the herd.

Multiple Antimicrobial Resistance in Methicillin-Resistant Group Isolates from Wild Ungulates in Spain.

The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of methicillin-resistant (MRS) strains in non-managed wild ungulates present in a typical Mediterranean forest in Spain. For this purpose, nasal swabs were obtained from 139 animals: 90 wild boar (), 42 red deer () and 7 fallow deer (), which were subsequently pre-enriched in BHI+ NaCl (6.5%) (24 h/37 °C), and then seeded in Columbia blood agar (24 h/37 °C)).

Spread of Antimicrobial Resistance by Serovar Choleraesuis between Close Domestic and Wild Environments.

The serovar Choleraesuis affects domestic pig and wild boar (WB), causing clinical salmonellosis. Iberian swine production is based on a free-range production system where WB and Iberian pig (IP) share ecosystems. This study focuses on the negative impact on the pork industry of infections due to this serotype, its role in the spread of antibiotic resistance, and its zoonotic potential.
