Purpose: The aim of this study is to compare the results of auditory perception tests and speech sound evaluations with electrode array length in patients with Mondini deformity.
Methods: The study included 14 patients who underwent cochlear implantation and radiologically confirmed Mondini deformity between 2007 and 2021 in our clinic. While 7 patients received standard electrode arrays from the MED-EL brand, the remaining 7 received shortened electrode arrays from the MED-EL brand.
Background: This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the current literature related to facial feminization surgery (FFS) and facial masculinization surgery (FMS) to understand the patterns, trends, and evolution of research topics. In addition, it aims to objectively identify the important articles that constitute the primary backbone of the FFS/FMS literature and provide a resource for education and new studies in this emerging field.
Results: Using the principles of the Leiden Manifesto, 384 publications from the Web of Science from 1987 to 2023 were analyzed.
Background: The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) models in the medical field is due to their ability to collaborate with clinicians in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of conditions. This research assesses the diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic strategies of Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) in comparison to dental professionals across 12 clinical cases.
Methodology: ChatGPT 3.
Assemblies of peptides and proteins through specific intermolecular interactions set the basis for macroscopic materials found in nature. Peptides provide easily tunable hydrogen-bonding interactions, which can lead to the formation of ordered structures such as highly stable β-sheets that can form amyloid-like supramolecular peptide nanofibrils (PNFs). PNFs are of special interest, as they could be considered as mimics of various fibrillar structures found in nature.

However, inefficient virion-cell attachment resulting in low gene transduction efficacy remains a major challenge in clinical applications. Adjuvants for ex vivo therapy settings need to increase transduction efficiency while being easily removed or degraded post-transduction to prevent the risk of venous embolism after infusing the transduced cells back to the bloodstream of patients, yet no such peptide system have been reported thus far.

Materials And Methods: Sixty ceramic crowns (IPS Emax and Cerasmart) were fabricated by CAD/CAM. Er,Cr:YSGG laser, sandblasting with aluminium oxide and hydrofluoric acid treatment effects on ceramics was tested (n=10/group).
Gene therapy via retroviral vectors holds great promise for treating a variety of serious diseases. It requires the use of additives to boost infectivity. Amyloid-like peptide nanofibers (PNFs) were shown to efficiently enhance retroviral gene transfer.

Methods: This is a multicenter retrospective study on consecutive patients who underwent TSS. Patients were categorized in high- or low-risk testicular germ cell tumor (TGCT) according to the presence/absence of features compatible with testicular dysgenesis syndrome.
Objective: To evaluate the performance of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence (AI) language model, in providing patient information on prostate cancer, and to compare the accuracy, similarity, and quality of the information to a reference source.
Methods: Patient information material on prostate cancer was used as a reference source from the website of the European Association of Urology Patient Information. This was used to generate 59 queries.
Amyloid-like nanofibers from self-assembling peptides can promote viral gene transfer for therapeutic applications. Traditionally, new sequences are discovered either from screening large libraries or by creating derivatives of known active peptides. However, the discovery of peptides, which are sequence-wise not related to any known active peptides, is limited by the difficulty to rationally predict structure-activity relationships because their activities typically have multi-scale and multi-parameter dependencies.

This study aimed to determine the factors affecting the total laser energy in cases with provided stone-free status after a single session of retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS). Data of 222 patients who underwent RIRS between October 2017 and March 2020 were evaluated retrospectively.

Accumulating evidence suggests that the antibacterial activity of many AMPs is dependent on the formation of amyloid-like fibrils. To identify novel fibril forming AMPs, we generated a spleen-derived peptide library and screened it for the presence of amyloidogenic peptides.

Background: The etiology of Behçet's disease (BD) is not clearly known, however, abnormal activity in T helper (Th) 1, Th 17, and regulatory T cells (Treg) has critical importance in pathogenesis. It has been shown that the intestinal microbiome can be effective in the modulation of these immune abnormalities in BD patients. Breastfeeding increases the maturation of the infant's intestinal permeability by affecting the newborn's immature intestinal microbiome and metagenome.

Unlike the extracellular matrix, the intrinsically stable amyloid-like fibrils do not respond nor adapt to stimuli of their natural environment. Here, a self-assembling motif (CKFKFQF), in which a photosensitive o-nitrobenzyl linker (PCL) is inserted, is designed.
