The focus on increasing wheat ( L.) grain yield at the expense of grain quality and nutrient accumulation can lead to shortages in macronutrient minerals, which are dangerous for human health. This is important, especially in nations where bread wheat is used in most daily dietary regimens.

However, the genomes of all living organisms still have many unidentified coding sequences. The increased number of missing small open reading frames (sORFs) is due to the length threshold used in most gene identification tools, which is true in the genic and, more importantly and surprisingly, in the intergenic regions.

The demographics between the two groups were similar-severity of deformity, ASA Score for general anesthesia, patient age, gender, number of spinal levels instrumented, number of patients with prior spinal surgery, and amount of neurologic compression. The intraoperative CT scanning added several objective factors improving patient safety.

This review illustrates the interactions between adequate vitamin D levels and an appropriate immune response, highlighting the implications for Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT), a chronic inflammation of the thyroid characterized by the production of autoantibodies. A comprehensive review of the existing literature shows that vitamin D inhibits the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines, leading to an improvement in the clinical picture in HT by switching from a pro-inflammatory to immune balance.

Patients with HDP have significantly elevated N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels at diagnosis; however, the NT-proBNP levels during early pregnancy are largely unknown. This study aimed to validate the association between HDP and NT-proBNP levels.

Methods: This retrospective study included 235 eyes that underwent intrascleral fixation surgery at our hospital between July 2014 and January 2021.
Background: As a global public health problem, anemia affects more than 400 million women of reproductive age worldwide, mostly in Africa and India. In the DRC, the prevalence of anemia has decreased slightly from 52.9% in 2007, to 46.

Methods: A case-control study was conducted to compare the perinatal outcomes between women with and without endometriosis. In the subgroup analysis, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of pregnant women with placenta previa were used to measure the cervical angle and its relationship with endometriosis.
Water deficit poses significant environmental stress that adversely affects the growth and productivity of durum wheat. Moreover, projections of climate change suggest an increase in the frequency and severity of droughts, particularly in arid regions. Consequently, there is an urgent need to develop drought-tolerant and high-yielding genotypes to ensure sustained production and global food security in response to population growth.

On the other hand, molecular markers accurately identify genetic variations and validate the purity of the cultivars. Therefore, genomic DUS can improve the efficiency of traditional DUS testing.

Here we report a case of a Japanese patient taking metformin who experienced severe acute renal failure accompanied with significantly elevated metformin plasma concentrations and signs of lactic acidosis.
Case Presentation: A 60-year-old Japanese man with type II diabetes, who was taking metformin (500 mg three times a day) along with several other medications, visited the emergency department with dizziness, malaise, and oliguria.
Robotic navigation has been shown to increase precision, accuracy, and safety during spinal reconstructive procedures. There is a paucity of literature describing the best techniques for robotic-assisted spine surgery for complex, multilevel cases or in cases of significant deformity correction. We present a case series of 100 consecutive multilevel posterior spinal fusion procedures performed for multilevel spinal disease and/or deformity correction.

The patient was a 32-year-old woman, gravida three, para one with one prior cesarean section. She became pregnant spontaneously, but the pregnancy implanted in the isthmus of the right fallopian tube, and therefore, she underwent laparoscopic right salpingectomy. Eight months later, another spontaneous pregnancy occurred.

Plasma membrane (PM) H-ATPase in guard cells plays a pivotal role for light-induced stomatal opening. In contrast, stomata close in response to the dark or plant hormone abscisic acid (ABA).

However, it remains unclear whether cognitive performances differ between individuals at high and low genetic risks for SCZ or BD.
Methods: Using the latest Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC) data, we calculated PGC3 SCZ-, PGC3 BD-, and SCZ BD polygenic risk scores (PRSs) in 173 SCZ patients, 70 unaffected first-degree relatives (FRs) and 196 healthy controls (HCs).
Clinical studies have confirmed that nab-paclitaxel(nab-PTX)therapy is effective and safe in patients with metastatic breast cancer. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) with nab-PTX has resulted in a pathological complete response (pCR) rate of 29% in all cases and 58% in HER2-positive cases. However, these data were obtained from an overseas study, and the effectiveness and safety of NAC with nab-PTX remain unclear in Japan.

Maternal ESBL-E colonization is considered a risk factor for neonatal colonization, which is the first step towards developing neonatal sepsis. Despite this, ESBL-E carriage prevalence and its risk factors during pregnancy or postpartum remain undefined in Southeast-Asia.

Oxycodone (OXY) is classified as a "strong opioid" in the World Health Organization system of cancer pain treatment. However, OXY also causes severe adverse reactions, such as respiratory depression. Thus, in order to adjust the dosage of OXY for well-managed pain relief with less toxicity, we tried establishing and validating a system for measuring plasma concentrations of OXY using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
