Nursing students' negative perceptions of and reduced interest in individuals experiencing mental health challenges could lead to problems such as deteriorating quality of mental health nursing and lack of competent, qualified mental health nurses. Promoting changes and developments in mental health nursing education for greater effectiveness is pivotal. This study aimed to develop, introduce and validate a blended learning service user involvement programme for mental health nursing education-the first of its kind in South Korea.

Background: This study evaluates shifts in oral glucose-lowering drug prescription patterns and the adoption of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) in South Korea.

Methods: A cross-sectional and retrospective cohort analysis of the Korean National Health Insurance database (2015-2021) assessed the prescription patterns of oral glucose-lowering drugs by therapy level, SGLT2i prescriptions by cardiovascular-renal disease (CVRD) status, and the mean duration for SGLT2i therapy initiation and intensification.

Results: From 2015 to 2021, the number of individuals prescribed oral glucose-lowering drugs across all regimen levels increased.

This study aims to enhance the solubility of Olaparib, classified as biopharmaceutical classification system (BCS) class IV due to its low solubility and bioavailability using a solid self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (S-SNEDDS). For this purpose, SNEDDS formulations were created using Capmul MCM as the oil, Tween 80 as the surfactant, and PEG 400 as the co-surfactant. The SNEDDS formulation containing olaparib (OLS-352), selected as the optimal formulation, showed a mean droplet size of 87.

For many years, attempts have been made to incorporate service users into psychiatric nursing education, particularly in European countries and Australia. In Asian countries, however, concrete examples of this are notably scarce, and the limited instances of implementation lack the necessary systematic organisation and long-term sustainability. This study systematically planned and implemented a psychiatric nursing curriculum that integrated service users in Korea.

Article Synopsis
  • Lifitegrast is an FDA-approved treatment for dry eye disease, targeting the cornea and conjunctiva, but there's limited information on its pharmacokinetics in biological samples.
  • A new liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was developed to measure lifitegrast in rabbit plasma and ocular tissues, achieving accurate and precise results.
  • The study found that after ophthalmic administration, only 3.26% of lifitegrast entered systemic circulation, with peak concentrations in the cornea and conjunctiva at half an hour post-dosing.

Acute stroke management is critically time-sensitive and challenging. Blood-based biomarkers that can differentiate acute ischemic stroke (IS) from hemorrhagic stroke (HS) can greatly facilitate triage and early management. Admission blood samples obtained within 6 h of stroke symptom onset were analyzed in a derivation/validation design.

Comprehensive assessment of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies against antigenic epitopes and cross-neutralization on variants is essential to monitor after infection or vaccination. From 32 COVID-19 patients and 40 vaccinated individuals [20 Oxford-AstraZeneca (AZ) and 20 Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT)], 348 serial sera are collected until 40 days after infection and 3 months after homologous booster vaccination. Antibody levels were monitored using a multiplex-bead assay including variant spike antigens, Roche (S1/RBD total) and a surrogate virus neutralization test (GenScript).
