Background: This study aimed to evaluate real-world data on the differences in outcomes between antiplatelet (AP) and anticoagulation (AC) therapies for intracranial arterial dissection (IAD).
Methods: This study included patients with symptomatic unruptured IAD between 2010 and 2021 that were treated with anti-thrombotics. Patients were dichotomized to AC and AP based on a treatment policy analysis.
Tofacitinib, which is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA), is primarily metabolized by the hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, CYP3A1/2 and CYP2C11. Acetaminophen (APAP), which is frequently used for pain relief in patients with RA, can induce acute liver injury (ALI) when taken in excess, profoundly affecting drug metabolism. Resveratrol (RVT) is a polyphenolic compound with hepatoprotective properties.

The current 2024 guideline, developed by the Korean Society of Endometriosis (KSE), builds upon the 2018 KSE guideline. This guideline aims to provide customized recommendations tailored to Korea's unique clinical aspects and medical environment, and addresses key areas such as diagnosis, medical and surgical management, considerations for special populations, and its complex relationship with cancer.

This study was aimed to characterize the composition of TILs and investigate their clinicopathological and prognostic significance with a special focus on the spatial distribution of TILs in TNBCs.
Methods: We analyzed TNBC samples through PanCancer Immune Profiling using NanoString nCounter assays to identify immune-related genes that are expressed differentially in relation to TIL levels and evaluated protein expression of selected markers through immunohistochemical staining on tissue microarrays.
Background: Limited understanding exists regarding the progression trajectory of severe eosinophilic asthma (SEA) patients on type 2 biologics therapies.
Objective: We aim to explore distinct longitudinal phenotypes of these patients based on crucial asthma biomarkers.
Methods: We enrolled 101 adult patients with SEA.
Various combination therapies have been investigated to overcome the limitations of using immune checkpoint inhibitors. However, determining the optimal combination therapy remains challenging. To overcome the therapeutical limitation, we conducted a translational research to elucidate the mechanisms by which AXL inhibition enhances the anti-tumor effects when combined with anti-PD-1 antibody therapy.

To address this, the Korean Sepsis Alliance, affiliated with the Korean Society of Critical Care Medicine, developed the first sepsis treatment guidelines for Korea based on a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis.
Methods: A de novo method was used to develop the guidelines.
: Hwa-byung (HB), traditionally observed in middle-aged Korean women, was investigated among the MZ generation in Republic of Korea to investigate its prevalence, associated factors, and perceptions. : An online survey was conducted with 449 Korean adults in the Republic of Korea born between 1980 and 2005. The participants completed questionnaires that assessed HB symptoms, emotional labor, psychological distress, and HB perceptions.

Methods: Distribution of FNAC categories, incidence of thyroid tumors in resection specimens and cytologic diagnoses of surgically confirmed follicular adenomas (FAs) and FTCs were collected from 10 institutes from five Asian countries and were compared among countries and between FAs and FTCs.
Results: The frequency of category IV diagnoses (3.
The yield of natural products from plants is currently insufficient and cannot be considered a sustainable and secure source of supply, especially given the challenges posed by global climate change. Therefore, a biofoundry that can quickly and accurately produce desired materials from microorganisms based on synthetic biology is urgently needed. Moreover, it is important to find new microbial and genetic chassis to meet the rapidly growing global market for high-value-added zeaxanthin.

Irisin, a myokine released during physical exercise, is beneficial for metabolic disorders and mitochondrial dysfunction. This study aimed to explore the effects of irisin on liver fibrosis in HSCs, a bile duct ligation (BDL) mouse model, and the associated mitochondrial dysfunction.

Soil amendments that inhibit methanogens can increase dimethylarsinic acid (DMA), which is responsible for straighthead disease in rice. A decrease in methanogenesis caused by silicate fertilizer may increase DMA concentration in paddy soils and rice grains; the relationship between these two factors and their impacts on DMA concentration remains unclear.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the genetic diversity within and among populations of P.
Aging is a pivotal risk factor for cancer, yet the underlying mechanisms remain poorly defined. Here, we explore age-related changes in the rat mammary gland by single-cell multiomics. Our findings include increased epithelial proliferation, loss of luminal identity, and decreased naive B and T cells with age.

This study aimed to identify brain changes in a stress-induced tinnitus (ST) animal model through transcriptome analysis of the prefrontal lobe and hippocampus.
Methods: Twenty Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to restraint stress for 2 h.
Importance: Osteoporosis-related fractures are associated with increased mortality risk among postmenopausal women, yet the impact of antiosteoporotic medications on mortality is not fully understood.
Objective: This study evaluates the effect of antiresorptive agents (ARs) on mortality risk in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
Design: This is a nationwide cohort study using data from the National Screening Program for Transitional Ages (2008-2017).
Palliative care is a comprehensive approach aimed at improving the quality of life for patients and their families. The symptom burden and care needs of patients with end-stage, non-malignant diseases are similar to those experienced by patients with advanced cancer. Therefore, the World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended the expansion of palliative care to encompass a broad spectrum of diseases.

Studies evaluating pain outcomes and opioid requirement differences between the robotic and laparoscopic colorectal resections are conflicting and often underpowered. In this retrospective, cohort study, we compare postoperative opioid requirements, reported as morphine milligram equivalents (MME), postoperative average and highest pain scores across postoperative days (POD) 0-5, and return to work in patients who underwent robotic versus laparoscopic colorectal resections.

Results showed nitrosamines were detected in 72% of samples, with processed foods exhibiting higher levels. Sesame oil, snow white rice cake, fried chicken wings, and fried squid were identified as having the highest nitrosamine content.

Various techniques have been devised to minimize the occurrence of postoperative adhesions which include insertion of stents in the middle meatus, application of removable nasal packing, and utilizing biodegradable materials with antiadhesive properties. This study assesses the efficacy of two sodium hyaluronate (SH)-based freeze-dried hydrogel composites in preventing postoperative nasal adhesions, comparing them with commonly used biodegradable materials in nasal surgery.
