This study evaluated the efficacy of various inorganic materials, biological control agents, organic agricultural materials (OAMs), and essential oils for controlling cucumber powdery mildew (CPM) under greenhouse conditions. Treatments included silicate, bicarbonate, copper sulfate, sulfurbased compounds, Bacillus subtilis KB-401, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens M27, Bordeaux mixtures, chitosan combined with oxidated copper salt, chitooligosaccharides, and essential oils such as castor and rapeseed oil with lecithin. Results demonstrated that Bordeaux mixtures, particularly Bordeaux Mixture I, and sulfur-based compounds provided the most reliable CPM control among inorganic materials.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study addresses malnutrition in intensive care units (ICUs), which is common due to factors like nutrient absorption issues and inflammation, and aims to create a specialized nutritional support strategy using the modified Nutrition Risk in Critically Ill (mNUTRIC) score based on the patient's metabolic phase.
  • - Conducted in a medical ICU over two years, the research analyzed 613 adult patients during the acute phase and 361 during the late phase, measuring nutritional intake and its impact on 28-day mortality.
  • - Results showed a significant link between nutritional supply and mortality across both phases, identifying a high mNUTRIC score and elevated lactate levels as independent risk factors for higher mortality rates in critically ill patients.

Malnutrition in critically ill patients is closely linked with clinical outcomes. During acute inflammatory states, nutrition cannot reverse the loss of body cell mass completely. Studies on nutritional screening and strategy considering metabolic changes have not yet been conducted.

Background: Dupilumab is a human antibody that blocks the signaling of both interleukin-4 and interleukin-13 receptors. It has been approved for the treatment of moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. However, several case reports have reported conflicting effects of dupilumab on alopecia.

Dupilumab is a dual inhibitor of interleukin-4 and interleukin-13 and is mainly used to treat moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. Post-marketing safety data related to dupilumab have been accumulated, and it has been found that ocular surface diseases are closely associated with dupilumab treatment. The aim of this study was to detect dupilumab-related signals and to determine the safety characteristics of dupilumab with respect to eye disorders using real-world big data.

Purpose: Heptaplatin, a new platinum analog, has favorable toxicity profiles and antitumor activity, comparable to those of cisplatin, in the treatment of gastric cancer. This study was designed to define the maximum tolerated dose (MTD), dose-limiting toxicity (DLT) and pharmacokinetics of heptaplatin administered by an intraperitoneal route in patients with resected advanced gastric cancer.

Materials And Methods: Seventeen patients with resected advanced gastric cancer were entered onto the study.

Conventional skeletal radiography and bone scan have certain limitations in the initial evaluation of bone and bone marrow lesions in multiple myeloma (MM). In this study we investigated the value of bone marrow immunoscintigraphy (BMIS) using anti-granulocyte monoclonal antibody (AGA) for the diagnosis of bone involvement of MM, in comparison with bone scan and skeletal radiography. Whole-body BMIS using technetium-99m-labelled AGA was performed in 22 MM patients (15 male, 7 female) and the imaging findings compared with those of skeletal radiography and (99m)Tc-methylene diphosphonate bone scan.
