We present a study of the inclusive production of the X(4140) state with the decay to the J/ψϕ final state in hadronic collisions. Based on 10.4  fb^{-1} of pp[over ¯] collision data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider, we report the first evidence for the prompt production of an X(4140) state and find the fraction of X(4140) events originating from b hadrons to be f_{b}=0.

Article Synopsis
  • The study measures the normalized differential cross section for top quark pair production in proton-proton collisions at the CERN LHC, using data from the CMS detector with an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb⁻¹.
  • The analysis focuses on different decay channels, including lepton+jets and dilepton, examining various kinematic properties of charged leptons and associated jets.
  • The results are compared to theoretical predictions from quantum chromodynamics, showing no significant deviations from the standard model expectations.

Background: Little is known about mixed cellular and antibody-mediated rejection (MR) in heart transplantation. It remains unclear whether cardiac MR has distinctive pathologic and clinical features beyond those of simultaneous cellular rejection (CR) and antibody-mediated rejection (AMR). In this study we systematically explore the pathologic and clinical characteristics of MR in heart transplantation.

We present the first search for CPT-violating effects in the mixing of Bs(0) mesons using the full Run II data set with an integrated luminosity of 10.4  fb(-1) of proton-antiproton collisions collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We measure the CPT-violating asymmetry in the decay Bs(0)→μ(±)Ds(±) as a function of celestial direction and sidereal phase.

Background: Early neutropenia is more common in small for gestational age (SGA) neonates (birth weight <10th percentile) than in appropriately grown neonates. However, several aspects of this variety of neutropenia are unknown, including the duration, kinetic mechanism, and outcomes.

Methods: Using 10 years of multihospital records, we studied SGA neonates who, during the first week after birth, had neutrophil counts <1000/μL.

Background: Serial sampling in discovery rat PK studies could be performed via capillary microsampling (CMS) of blood or by using the Mitra™ device to collect dried blood samples.

Results: Blood CMS results were compared with Mitra sampling results for four test compounds dosed in rat PK studies. The PK profiles obtained from CMS sampling were found to be very similar to those obtained from the Mitra sampling.

Background: Although several studies have documented adverse outcomes for vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) colonization and infection in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) recipients, data are inadequate for patients undergoing autologous (auto-)HSCT.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 300 consecutive patients receiving an auto-HSCT between 2006 and 2014. Patients had stool cultures for VRE on admission and weekly during hospitalization.

Stringent limits are set on the long-lived lepton-like sector of the phenomenological minimal supersymmetric standard model (pMSSM) and the anomaly-mediated supersymmetry breaking (AMSB) model. The limits are derived from the results presented in a recent search for long-lived charged particles in proton-proton collisions, based on data collected by the CMS detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. In the pMSSM parameter sub-space considered, 95.
