Social participation of women with breast cancer.

Background/aim: The general problems of persons with malignant diseases (stages of asthenia, chronic fatigue and exhaustion, followed by depression and anxiety) lead to a decrease in functional abilities and a declining quality of life. The aim of this study was to determine the level of difficulty, the type of required assistance and the level of satisfaction that derives from maintaining life habits. The study also examined the correlation between the level of accomplishment of life habits and the level of satisfaction with how they are maintained.

Detection and prevalence of motor skill disorders.

The main goal of this research was to establish the prevalence, form of manifestation, level and kind of motor skill disorders in three area of motor development functioning: neuromaturation, coordination and balance. The sample included 1165 children, between 6.5 and 11 years of age.

Optimization of a flow injection system with amperometric detection for arsenic determination.

A selective and sensitive analytical procedure for rapid arsenic determination by gas-diffusion flow injection analysis with amperometric detection was developed. The method is based on the arsenite reduction by NaBH(4). Derived arsine diffuses through a PTF membrane into the acceptor flow stream and is amperometrically determined on a platinum working electrode.

Simultaneous production of pullulan and biosorption of metals by Aureobasidium pullulans strain CH-1 on peat hydrolysate.

It was demonstrated that during the growth of Aureobasidium pullulans strain CH-1 on the acid hydrolysate of peat from the Vlasina Lake, the content of metals (Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn, Pb, Cd, Ni and Cr) decreased due to biosorption. The reduction in the metal content was found to be in the range (%): 38.2-62.
