Azoospermia and multi-organ damage in juvenile rats exposed to α-Terpineol from weaning to sexual maturity.

This study aimed to evaluate the repeated oral administration of α-terpineol in juvenile Wistar rats over a 70-day period. The objective was to assess the potential systemic and reproductive toxicity of α-terpineol when administered by gavage at doses of 75, 150, and 300 mg/kg/day to juvenile Wistar rats for 70 days from postnatal day 24. The control group received corn oil for 70 days.

Axonal mitochondria regulate gentle touch response through control of axonal actin dynamics.

Actin in neuronal processes is both stable and dynamic. The origin & functional roles of the different pools of actin is not well understood. We find that mutants that lack mitochondria, and , in neuronal processes also lack dynamic actin.

LRK-1/LRRK2 and AP-3 regulate trafficking of synaptic vesicle precursors through active zone protein SYD-2/Liprin-α.

Synaptic vesicle proteins (SVps) are transported by the motor UNC-104/KIF1A. We show that SVps travel in heterogeneous carriers in C. elegans neuronal processes, with some SVp carriers co-transporting lysosomal proteins (SV-lysosomes).

Active zone protein SYD-2/Liprin- acts downstream of LRK-1/LRRK2 to regulate polarized trafficking of synaptic vesicle precursors through clathrin adaptor protein complexes.

Synaptic vesicle proteins (SVps) are thought to travel in heterogeneous carriers dependent on the motor UNC-104/KIF1A. In neurons, we found that some SVps are transported along with lysosomal proteins by the motor UNC-104/KIF1A. LRK-1/LRRK2 and the clathrin adaptor protein complex AP-3 are critical for the separation of lysosomal proteins from SVp transport carriers.
