Background: Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is generally associated with life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. Supraventricular arrhythmias are an accepted cause of SCD in Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and complex congenital heart disease. However, the role of atrial tachyarrhythmias (ATAs) in SCD in patients with structurally normal hearts is unclear.

Ternary amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) consist of a multicomponent carrier with the aim of improving physical stability or dissolution performance. A polymer blend as a carrier that combines a water-insoluble and a water-soluble polymer may delay the drug release rate, minimizing the risk of precipitation from the supersaturated state. Different microstructures of the ternary ASD may result in different drug release performances; hence, understanding the phase morphology of the polymer blend is crucial prior to drug incorporation.

We aimed to validate MR predictors of difficult neonatal airway (DNA) in a multicentre retrospective cohort of fetuses with micrognathia and oropharyngeal/neck masses.
Method: The radiology databases of two large Australian maternal-fetal medicine centers were searched for subjects meeting inclusion criteria: Pregnancies of > 18 weeks' gestation evaluated with prenatal ultrasound and MRI between 2007 and 2022 where either fetal micrognathia or a fetal cervical, oral or oropharyngeal mass was identified on prenatal ultrasound and MRI, and details of delivery/postnatal course were available including: nature of delivery, need for the fetal airway to be secured at delivery, degree of difficulty in airway securement, survival > 24 h postnatally.
Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is a significant cause of vision loss, characterized by the occlusion of retinal veins, leading to conditions such as central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) and branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). Macular edema (ME), a prevalent consequence of RVO, is the primary cause of vision impairment in affected patients. Anti-VEGF agents have become the standard treatment, showing efficacy in improving visual acuity (VA) and reducing ME.

Background: In psychologic and psychiatric research, methodological standards are used to develop an evidence-base for clinical practice. Each method forms ‘evidence’ based on specific methodological assumptions. The choice for a method defines what counts as ‘evidence; thus shaping the organization of clinical practice.

The Preceyes Surgical System (PSS) supports the surgical removal of ERM through robot-assisted membrane peeling (RA-MP). This study compares surgical times and iatrogenic hemorrhages between manual membrane peeling (MMP) and RA-MP using PSS.

Methods: Feasibility was assessed in synthetic eye models in two stages: Stage I, nonimplantable robot-assisted goniotomy; and Stage II, robot-assisted stent implantation using a trabecular bypass stent. Robot-assisted interventions were subsequently compared to the manual approach.

Persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) is a diverse condition that includes various subtypes and underlying causes of arrhythmia. Progress made in catheter ablation technology in recent years has significantly enhanced the durability of ablation. Despite these advances however, the effectiveness of ablation in treating persistent AF is still relatively modest.

Aims: To describe the ultrasound diagnostic features and surgical management procedures for patients with an interstitial ectopic pregnancy in our tertiary institution and associated peripheral hospital over a ten-year period.
Methods: A retrospective audit of all surgically managed cases of interstitial pregnancies over a ten-year period at a tertiary hospital and one associated peripheral hospital in New South Wales.
Results: Sixteen cases of surgically managed interstitial pregnancy were identified.
Introduction: Esophageal safety following radiofrequency (RF) left atrial (LA) linear ablation has not been established. To determine the esophageal safety profile of LA linear RF lesions, we performed systematic esophagogastroduodenoscopy in all patients with intraesophageal temperature rise (ITR) ≥ 38.5°C.

The ablation of LV summit arrhythmias is challenging, as testified by the fact that radiofrequency (RF) catheter ablation failure is frequent. Retrograde coronary venous ethanol infusion has been proposed as an alternative approach for the ablation of LV summit arrhythmias.

However, P(NiPAAm) hydrogels possess minor mechanical properties. To increase the mechanical properties, a covalent bond is introduced into the P(NIPAAm) network through a biocompatible thiol-ene click-reaction by mixing two polymer solutions.

We assessed changes in personality styles, including dependency, self-criticism, sociotropy, and autonomy, and their association with treatment response. Both treatment modalities led to significant reductions in self-criticism and sociotropy scores.

Case Presentations: Three patients with a mean age of 67 years were included in the present study. One eye was aphakic, while the others were pseudophakic.
Purpose: In radiation therapy, surface guidance can be used for patient setup and intra-fraction motion monitoring. The surface guided radiation therapy (SGRT) system from Varian Medical systems, IDENTIFY, consists of three pods, including cameras and a random pattern projector, mounted on the ceiling. The information captured by the cameras is used to make a reconstruction of the surface.

In this study, we determine the procedural performance, efficacy, safety, and durability of PFA and compare its performance with a dataset of optimized RF ablation.
Methods And Results: After propensity score matching, we compared 161 patients who received optimized RF-guided PVI in the PowerPlus study (CLOSE protocol) with 161 patients undergoing PFA-guided PVI for paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation (AF; pentaspline basket catheter).
