Midterm Functional Outcome of the Linked Semiconstrained Distal Radioulnar Joint Prosthesis.

 A painful unstable distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) can seriously compromise hand and wrist function. The semiconstrained prosthesis was developed to restore DRUJ function. To date, most outcome reports are coauthored by the designer.

Avascular necrosis of the hamate: three cases and review of the literature.

Background Avascular necrosis of the hamate (hamate-AVN) is a seldom reported disease of which little is known on etiology, best treatment modalities, and outcome. Hamate-AVN can occur in multiple locations within the hamate. Case Description Case one was an 8-year-old girl with painful AVN of the hamate hook.

Ulnar Impaction Syndrome: Ulnar Shortening vs. Arthroscopic Wafer Procedure.

The outcome of ulnar shortenings was compared with that of arthroscopic wafer resections for ulnar impaction (or abutment) syndrome in patients with a positive ulnar variance. The outcome was measured by DASH score, visual analog scale for pain, and working incapacity. The mean DASH score in the ulnar shortening group was 26; in the wafer group it was 36.

Pre-axial polydactyly: outcome of the surgical treatment.

From 1988 to 1999 we operated on 22 patients for pre-axial polydactyly. We retrospectively reviewed all files and we clinically reviewed 16 patients. We report on the epidemiology, the surgical technique, the outcome and the complications.
