Research Question: Is there an association between women's body mass index (BMI) and the gender of offspring generated from fresh or frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles?
Design: Between 2018 and 2021, 2670 cycles were performed, comprising 786 fresh embryo transfers and 1884 FET cycles. The study analysed the relationship between the BMI of women undergoing IVF and the sex of the newborn and the male-to-female live birth ratio (secondary sex ratio [SSR]).
Results: After 2670 single-embryo transfers, 483 (50.
Purpose: In this review, we aim to summarize recent information about the association of B vitamins with immune-metabolic aspects of depression and their connection with the gut-brain axis.
Views: B vitamins may alter depressive symptoms by many various mechanisms such as reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, gut permeability, controlling epigenetics, modifying the microbiome, and stimulating it to produce many beneficial substances such as short-chain fatty acids or neurotransmitters: norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, gamma-aminobutyric acid, and acetylcholine.
Conclusions: Specifically, vitamins B1 (thiamine), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folate), and B12 (cyanocobalamin), B2 (riboflavin) have been observed to affect depression.
The amniotic membrane is widely used in the treatment of chronic wounds, in toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and in the treatment of burns. In our clinical practice, we use amniotic dressings on shallow skin wounds caused by burns. Counteracting infections is an important aspect of working with burn wounds.

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a potentially life-threatening condition among women undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH). We present a case of thyroid dysfunction in severe OHSS in a patient diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism before COH.

A new synthetic approach to photoluminescent zinc complexes with quinolinate ligands was developed that allowed the isolation of a series of structurally diverse and novel alkylzinc 8-hydroxyquinolate complexes: the trinuclear alkylzinc aggregate [tBuZn(q)](3) (1(3)), the pentanuclear oxo cluster [(tBu)(3)Zn(5)(μ(4) -O)(q)(5)] (2), and the tetranuclear hydroxo cluster [Zn(q)(2)](2)[tBuZn(OH)](2) (3). All compounds were characterized in solution by (1)H NMR, IR, UV/Vis, and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, and in the solid state by X-ray diffraction, TGA, and PL studies.

Methods: 231 patients with invasive cervical carcinoma were diagnosed, surgically treated--Piver III--and followed-up. Histological examination of specimens was performed according to the British NHS-CSP guidelines.
Objective: High-risk types of HPV are etiological factors in cervical cancer. Lymph node involvement in cervical cancer patients reduces 5-year survival rates by 25-60%. However, the influence on survival of HPV DNA positivity in histopathologically negative lymph nodes remains unresolved.

Materials And Methods: Postoperative gray-scale and Doppler sonographic examinations were performed in 71 women after pelvic lymphadenectomy. Twenty healthy women served as controls.
Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze clinical data such as diagnosis, surgical treatment and follow-up of patients with Krukenberg tumor (KT). We also reviewed literature of the subject.
Material And Methods: We retrospectively analyzes medical data of 34 patients who were operated in Gynecology Clinic of Medical University of Gdansk in years 1999-2003.
The first magnesium and zinc alkyls derived from N-(iso-propyl)-pyrrolylaldimine have been synthesised and structurally characterised: both tBuM(N,N')-type compounds exist as three-coordinate monomers in benzene solution, but in the solid state the magnesium complex is a centrosymmetric dimer with Mg2(mu-N)2 bridges, whereas the zinc complex is a Zn...

The gene encoding Fas receptor contains single nucleotide polymorphism at -670 position, which influences the expression by different transcriptional efficiency of this gene. The aim of this study was to determine the distribution of -670 A/G Fas gene promoter polymorphism in cervical cancer patients and healthy control group in Poland in order to evaluate the potential association between Fas genotype and cervical carcinogenesis.

Methods: Samples of primary cervical cancer lesions and dissected lymph nodes were obtained from women undergoing surgical treatment. The presence of HPV DNA was detected by the polymerase chain reaction.
Unlabelled: Acute myocardial infarction during pregnancy is a very rare event. It occurs from 1 per 10,000 to 1 per 30,000 deliveries. Diagnosis of myocardial ischaemia is difficult because of typical complaints in pregnancy such as breathlessness and pain in chest.

Gal and its receptors are widely distributed in central and peripheral nervous systems, urogenital and gastrointestinal tracts of several mammalian species including the human. The study was undertaken to characterise the effects of Gal on uterus smooth muscle.

Material And Methods: CA15-3 concentrations were assayed immuno-enzymatically in the sera of 733 women with breast carcinoma: in 707 cases marker was analyzed serially (every 4 months during follow-up after completion of radical treatment and when the relapse of breast cancer was clinically suspected) and in 26 patients--at diagnosis of locoregional relapse and\or breast cancer dissemination; 5493 assays of the CA15-3 antigen were performed in total. The cut-off limit was established at 30 u/ml.
Tamoxifen (TAM) is the endocrine treatment of choice in the first-line therapy for all stages of breast cancer, in both pre- and postmenopausal women. Some clinical studies indicated a small but significant increase in the risk of subsequent endometrial carcinoma in breast cancer women who take TAM as an adjuvant therapy. In this study, we present two cases of breast cancer patients in whom endometrial cancer was diagnosed during TAM treatment; the current status of knowledge on the relationship between TAM use and the risk of endometrial cancer is reviewed.

The contractile responses to galanin(1-29)-NH2 were not modified by atropine (10 microM), guanethidine (10 microM), naloxone (1 microM), a mixture of propranolol (10 microM) and phentolamine (10 microM), indomethacin (10 microM), a mixture of mepyramine (10 microM) and cimetidine (10 microM), saralasin (10 microM), and spantide (100 microM). The effects of M15 and galanin(1-14)-(alpha-aminobutyric acid8)-scyliorhinin-I were significantly decreased by atropine for 36 and 18% and by spantide for 37 and 26% respectively.

All tested peptides, apart from galanin(16-29)-NH2 evoked reproducible concentration-dependent contractions with significantly decreased activities in comparison to the potency of the native galanin(1-29)-NH2 molecule. The order of the contractile ability in the group of galanin(1-29)-NH2 short fragments was as follows: [lysine14]galanin(1-15)-NH2 > galanin(1-15)-OH > galanin(1-15)-NH2 > [glycine5] galanin(1-15)-NH2 > galanin(2-15)-NH2 > [glycine5,lysine14]galanin(1-15)-NH2.
