Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the effect of multiple folded internal limiting membrane (ILM) flap in the inverted ILM flap technique on postoperative outcomes of patients with full-thickness macular hole (FTMH).
Methods: This retrospective study included 41 eyes of 41 patients with FTMH treated with vitrectomy using the inverted ILM flap technique. Complete ophthalmic examination was performed preoperatively, at 1 week, and at 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months after surgery.
The etiopathogenesis of retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is multifactorial, and the contribution of platelets to RVO development has not been fully elucidated. We aimed to analyze platelet function in RVO patients (n = 35) and controls (n = 35). We found a higher (p < 0.

This retrospective study included six eyes of six patients (five women and one man) with hypotony (intraocular pressure [IOP] ≤ 6 mmHg) after multiple reattachment surgeries for PVR-induced retinal detachment. In patients with failure of hypotony resolution after conservative treatment (dexamethasone drops five times daily), 360° scleral buckling was performed under periocular anesthesia.

Purpose: To describe a case of a 44-year-old man with ocular trauma after a mine explosion. From the moment of the injury, the patient reported significant visual impairment (no perception of light in the right eye and a perception of light without localization in the left eye). The patient was diagnosed with a double-sided penetrating corneal scleral wound and traumatic cataract, retinal detachment, and intraocular foreign bodies after a battlefield mine explosion.

Methods: Twelve patients with retinal artery occlusion (11 central retinal artery occlusion and 1 branch retinal artery occlusion) were part of this study. Our patients were treated with vitrectomy with arteriotomy or with neurotomy and arteriotomy.
Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is a heterogenous disorder in which the formation of a thrombus results in the retinal venous system narrowing and obstructing venous return from the retinal circulation. The pathogenesis of RVO remains uncertain, but it is believed to be multifactorial and to depend on both local and systemic factors, which can be divided into vascular, platelet, and hypercoagulable factors. The vascular factors include dyslipidaemia, high blood pressure, and diabetes mellitus.

Methods: This is a retrospective observational study of five eyes of five patients treated with vitrectomy and autologous lens capsular flap transplantation. Complete ophthalmic examination was performed preoperatively and seven days and 1, 3, 6, 12, and 18 months after surgery.
Purpose: Description of long-time observation of X-linked retinoschisis coexisting with choroidal neovascularization in two brothers.
Material And Methods: 27-year-old man reported sudden visual impairment in one eye. The same symptoms had patient's brother.
Background: The purpose of this was to analyze the effect of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling on the anatomical and functional outcomes in patients undergoing retinectomy for proliferative vitreoretinopathy-related retinal detachment, especially regarding the postoperative development of macular pucker.
Methods: In all, a consecutive and prospective series of 84 eyes of 84 patients were included in the study. All eyes underwent retinectomy with silicone oil tamponade for retinal detachment because of proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
Background: The aim of this study is to present functional and anatomical results of pars plana vitrectomy without gas tamponade in lamellar macular holes. Additionally, the study determines factors influencing final outcome.
Methods: Twenty-six eyes of 26 patients with lamellar macular hole were diagnosed using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
Purpose: To evaluate anatomic and functional results in patients with macular edema in retinal vein occlusion (RVO), treated with pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling, depending on the timing of surgery.
Methods: A total of 35 consecutive patients underwent PPV with ILM peeling. Visual acuity, fluorescein angiography, and optical coherence tomography/spectral optical coherence tomography were performed preoperatively and 6-12 months postoperatively.
Purpose: The aim of this paper is to evaluate the retinal structure after macular hole surgery and to study the correlation of structural findings with final functional outcomes, using high-speed, high-resolution spectral optical coherence tomography (SOCT).
Methods: Sixty-eight eyes of 60 patients with full-thickness macular holes were included in the study. All patients underwent pars plana vitrectomy with trypan blue staining and internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling.

Background: To document and study the spontaneous closure of stage III and IV idiopathic full-thickness macular holes by using both optical coherence tomography (Stratus OCT) and spectral optical coherence tomography (SOCT).
Methods: A two-center, two-case, observational study of stage III and IV macular holes is presented. OCT and SOCT were performed.
Background: Preretinal membrane formation is a frequently diagnosed disease in ophthalmology. Its pathogenesis is unclear. Optical coherence tomography is an important diagnostic tool in patients with epiretinal membranes.

Material And Methods: Combined phacoemulsification and vitrectomy procedure was performed in 20 eyes. Phacoemulsification was performed through two paracenteses.
Purpose: The aim of this paper is to present an alternative method of phacoemulsification.
Material And Methods: Bimanual phacoemulsification through two paracenteses was performed in 15 eyes. After cataract removal intraocular lenses were implanted into the capsular bag through a small paracentesis (less than 2 mm).
Background: To evaluate the changes in corneal shape after phacoemulsification, PC IOL implantation and pars plana vitrectomy.
Material And Methods: This study comprised 25 eyes of 25 patients who received phacoemulsification, 5.5 mm PMMA IOL implantation through 6 mm clear cornea incision with one single suture, and pars plana vitrectomy in one step - group A.
Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness, technical feasibility and incidence of complications after combining pars plana vitrectomy, phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation.
Material And Methods: The results of combined vitreoretinal and cataract surgery in 100 eyes of 96 patients were retrospectively and prospectively analyzed. The mean follow-up period was 8.
