Small RNA Sequencing and Multiplex RT-PCR for Diagnostics of Grapevine Viruses and Virus-like Organisms.

Metagenomic approaches used for virus diagnostics allow for rapid and accurate detection of all viral pathogens in the plants. In order to investigate the occurrence of viruses and virus-like organisms infecting grapevine from the Ampelographic collection Kromberk in Slovenia, we used Ion Torrent small RNA sequencing (sRNA-seq) and the VirusDetect pipeline to analyze the sRNA-seq data. The used method revealed the presence of: (GLRaV-1), (GLRaV-2), (GLRaV-3), (GRSPaV), (GFLV) and its satellite RNA (satGFLV), (GFkV), (GRVFV), (GPGV), (GV-Sat), (HSVd), and (GYSVd-1).

Microencapsulation and testing of the agricultural animal repellent, Daphne.

The microencapsulated animal repellent Daphne was prepared by in situ polymerization of melamine-formaldehyde prepolymer with styrene-maleic acid anhydride copolymer as a modifying agent. Pure Daphne (a mixture of essential oils and other volatile compounds) and Daphne (45 wt%) diluted with isopropylmyristate (55 wt%) were used as core materials. Three types of formulations were prepared: (1) aqueous suspension concentrates, to be diluted for spraying, (2) thickened pastes with microcapsules for coating tree bark, and (3) textile, paper and metal strips, coated or impregnated with microcapsules.

Computer tomography in transient global amnesia.

16 patients with transient global amnesia (TGA) have been investigated by computer tomography. 3 had a completed stroke associated with the TGA. The findings of computer tomography were normal in 7 patients.
