Mental and physical capacities were studied in schoolchildren aged 6-10, 11-13 and 14-17 years in the autumn-spring period during vitamin administration of "Undevitum". The six-month vitamin administration produced a positive effect on the functional state of the schoolchildren that was expressed in the improvement of their mental and physical capacity parameters.

Inactivation of cytochrome P-450 LM2 induced by hydrogen peroxide formed in the active site of the enzyme was studied. Catalase did not protect cytochrome P-450 LM2 from inactivation during its operation in a soluble reconstituted system. The hemoprotein inactivation in this system was found to depend on the ratio of hemo- to flavoproteins.

Emulgen 913, Triton N-101 and sodium cholate were compared for their reconstituting action on the dimethylaniline N-demethylation system containing cytochrome P-450 and NADPH-cytochrome P-450 reductase. The comparison showed that emulgen 913 is the most efficient detergent. The optimum molar ratio of the proteins and emulgen appeared to be equal to 1:1:600.

Oxidizing ability of rabbit liver tissue was studied in experimental atheromatosis, while the functional activity of microsomal enzymatic system was evaluated by content of cytochromes P-450 and b5 as well by estimation of the reductase activity and the rates of oxidation of aniline, dimethylalanine, p-nitroanisole and amidopyrine with NADN and NADPH as cosubstrates. In rabbits with atheromatous impairment of aorta all the patterns studied were decreased by 30-70%. Severity of the aorta impairment correlated directly with the liver tissue deterioration and the rate of alteration in activity of the microsomal system oxidation constituents.

It was shown that the alpha-helix content in both isolated and incorporated into phospholipid bilayer NADPH-dependent cytochrome P-450 reductase is 20%. NADPH or dithionite reduction of the flavoprotein is not followed by conformational changes. The incorporation of the NADPH-dependent cytochrome P-450 reductase molecule into the phospholipid bilayer does not affect its catalytic properties.

Content and functional activity of rat liver microsomal haemoproteins were studied after injection of heliotrin (HT). Heliotrin, at a dose of 30 mg/100 g, decreased distinctly cytochrome P-450 concentration in microsomes and increased the rate of inactivation of the enzyme reduced form. Decrease in the NADPH and NADH-dependent flavoprotein activities, decrease in O-dealkilating and p-hydroxylating activities and a distinct increase in NADPH- and ascorbate-dependent peroxidation of membrane lipids were found in rat liver microsomes treated with HT.
