Chronic ischaemic leg ulcer as a late complication of post-traumatic arteriovenous fistula.

Objective: Chronic post-traumatic arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is a late complication of vascular injury and can be presented with symptoms of congestive heart failure, venous hypertension and distal ischaemia. We present an unusual case of chronic ischaemic leg ulcer in young adult caused by post-traumatic AVF. Case report A 29-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital with symptoms of chronic ulcer located on the lateral side of the lower left leg.

Living donor liver transplantation for unresectable liver metastases from solid pseudo-papillary tumor of the pancreas: a case report.

Solid pseudo-papillary tumors (SPT) are rare primary tumors of the pancreas that primarily affect young women. They are of borderline malignancy, and, unlike other pancreatic malignancies, the prognosis after resection is quite good. However, metastatic disease does occur; the liver is the most common site of tumor dissemination.

Embolization of a large pancreatic pseudoaneurysm converted from pseudocyst (hemorrhagic pseudocyst).

Context: Bleeding pancreatic pseudoaneurysms are a rare complication of chronic pancreatitis with a severe prognosis and high mortality. Conversion of a pancreatic pseudocyst into a pseudoaneurysm is a potentially lethal complication because, when rupture occurs, there is a high mortality rate.

Case Report: We describe a case of pancreatic pseudoaneurysm converted from a pseudocyst.

Orthotopic liver transplantation in a patient with acute liver failure resulting from aortic dissection.

We report a case of acute liver ischemia resulting in liver failure that occurred due to celiac trunk occlusion by an aortic dissection. A 53-year-old patient presented with clinical signs of acute abdomen. He underwent an urgent laparotomy, which revealed a splenic infarction and thrombosis of the celiac artery all the way to the porta hepatis.

Atherosclerotic lesions of supra-aortic arteries in diabetic patients.

The aim of this prospective study was to determine the prevalence and localization of stenotic atherosclerotic lesions of supra-aortic arteries in diabetic patients according to age and sex. Angiograms obtained by digital subtraction angiography were analyzed in 150 diabetic patients (study group) and 150 non-diabetic patients (control group) with symptoms of cerebral ischemia. Diabetic patients were found to have a significantly higher prevalence of stenotic atherosclerotic lesions of the internal carotid artery.

Spontaneously ruptured gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) of the jejunum mimicking acute appendicitis.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are characterized with diverse clinical presentations, including acute and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, presence of an intra-abdominal mass, anorexia, and intestinal obstruction. A 60-year-old obese woman presented as an acute abdominal emergency with right lower quadrant (RLQ) pain and tenderness, nausea and leukocytosis, all mimicking acute appendicitis. Laparotomy revealed a spontaneously ruptured GIST of the jejunum, which was localized to the RLQ due to postoperative adhesions following previous two cesarean sections and cholecystectomy.
