Autoantibodies have been shown to be implied in COVID-19 but the emerging autoantibody repertoire remains largely unexplored. We investigated the new-onset autoantibody repertoire in 525 healthcare workers and hospitalized COVID-19 patients at five time points over a 16-month period in 2020 and 2021 using proteome-wide and targeted protein and peptide arrays. Our results show that prevalent new-onset autoantibodies against a wide range of antigens emerged following SARS-CoV-2 infection in relation to pre-infectious baseline samples and remained elevated for at least 12 months.

We evaluate the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 among young adult Finnish females residing in 25 communities all over Finland from 2020 until 2022.
Methods: Between 1st March 2020 and 30th June 2022, 3589 blood samples were collected from 3583 women born in 1992-95 when aged 25 or 28 years old attending the follow-up of an ongoing population-based trial of cervical screening strategies.
Purpose: Combining analgesics with different mechanisms of action may increase the analgesic efficacy. The multidimensional pharmacodynamic profiles of ibuprofen 400 mg/paracetamol 1000 mg, ibuprofen 400 mg/paracetamol 1000 mg/codeine 60 mg, and paracetamol 1000 mg/codeine 60 mg and placebo were compared.
Methods: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, single-centre, outpatient, and single-dose study used 200 patients of both sexes and homogenous ethnicity after third molar surgery (mean age 24 years, range 19-30 years).
The detection of antibody responses using serological tests provides means to diagnose infections, follow disease transmission, and monitor vaccination responses. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, highlighted the need for rapid development of robust and reliable serological tests to follow disease spreading. This longitudinal cohort study including 1965 healthcare workers, of which 381 participants exhibited antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 spike antigen at study inclusion, reveal that these antibodies remain detectable in most participants, 96%, at least four months post infection, despite having had no or mild symptoms. Virus neutralization capacity was confirmed by microneutralization assay in 91% of study participants at least four months post infection.

Methods: We investigated SARS-CoV-2-specific humoral and cellular immune responses more than 8 months post-asymptomatic, mild and severe infection in a cohort of 1884 healthcare workers (HCW) and 51 hospitalized COVID-19 patients. Several components in the Wnt pathway, including β-catenin and glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta, have been implied in AD pathogenesis. Here, mRNA brain levels from five-month-old tg-ArcSwe and nontransgenic mice were compared using Affymetrix microarray analysis. Frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) with ubiquitin-positive, tau-negative inclusions, and linkage to chromosome 17 was recently found to be caused by mutations in the progranulin (PGRN) gene. In this study, we screened a group of 51 FTLD patients for PGRN mutations and identified a novel exon 6 splice donor site deletion (IVS6+5_8delGTGA) in 2 unrelated patients. This mutation displayed an altered splicing pattern generating 2 aberrant transcripts and causing frameshifts of the coding sequence, premature termination codons, and a near absence of PGRN mRNA from the mutated alleles most likely through nonsense-mediated decay.

A male patient presented at age 66 with change of personality: disinhibition, emotional blunting, and socially inappropriate behavior, coupled with dysarthria, dystonia, and corticospinal tract involvement. In this report, we describe a new phenotype for the tau S305S mutation, previously described as progressive supranuclear palsy. Clinically, the three affected family members showed alterations in personality and behaviour as well as cognitive decline and late levodopa-resistant parkinsonian symptoms, consistent with the diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia with parkinsonism linked to chromosome 17.
