Evaluation of Organosolv Lignin as an Oxidation Inhibitor in Bitumen.

Organosolv lignin, a natural polymer, has been used in this study as an oxidation inhibitor in bitumen. Particularly, the effect of oxidative aging on the chemical compositional changes and on the rheology of bituminous binders with organosolv lignin and the impact to inhibit oxidation in bitumen were evaluated. Firstly, after analyzing the microstructure and surface characteristics of utilized organosolv lignin, a high shear mixing procedure was followed to produce binders of different proportions of lignin in bitumen.

Transrectal ultrasonography of perianal fistulas: a single center experience from a surgeon's point of view.

Masses of the round ligament of the uterus are uncommon. Leiomyomas are the most common of them, followed by mesothelial cysts and in some cases endometriosis. The exact incidence is not known, but most cases are frequently encountered during the fertility age.

Epidural abscess imitating recurrent pilonidal sinus: a case report.

Pilonidal sinus or pilonidal cyst is a common benign disease, affecting mostly young working men. We present the first case of an epidural abscess imitating pilonidal sinus. A 33-year old male, suffering from previously undiagnosed and untreated diabetes mellitus (DM), presented to our emergency department (ER), one month after open surgical treatment of pilonidal sinus, due to weakness and fever.

A rare cause for Hartmann's procedure due to biliary stent migration: A case report.

Introduction: Biliary stent migration (proximal or distal) occurs in 6% of all cases. The majority of these migrating stents are passing through the intestine, without causing any complications. Usually when a stent migration occurs, endoscopic retrieval is the proper treatment option, except in case of complications when surgical removal is the only treatment option.
