Aim: This study aimed to assess and compare outcomes of robotic inguinal hernia repair (RIHR) in patients under and over 70 years old, performed by a fellowship-trained robotic surgeon at a single institution.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of patients undergoing robotic primary transabdominal preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair between 2020 and 2022 was conducted. Patients were categorized into two age groups: those under 70 years and 70 years and older.
Introduction Predatory journals are marked by inadequate editorial practices and peer review processes, diverging from established global standards in scientific publishing. This article, as a component of the ASGLOS Study, aims to explore the relationship between participant demographics and their experiences with targeted predatory business activities, including their approaches to managing daily predatory emails. Methods To collect the personal experiences of physicians' mailboxes on predatory publishing, a Google Form® survey was designed and disseminated from September 2021 to April 2022.

This systematic review aimed to consolidate the existing evidence concerning the distribution and variation in the pattern of temporalis innervation.
Methods: A PRISMA-compliant systematic literature search was conducted in November 2023 and included studies offering anatomical insights into the distribution and variation of temporalis innervation patterns.
Background: Despite the encouraging findings of temporalis muscle-based facial reanimation surgery without the need for nerve grafting, there is a need for comprehensive evaluation of the impact of temporalis-based facial reanimation surgery on key outcome measures.
Methods: Comprehensive search in Medline and Embase databases were carried out up to 25 February 2023. The articles that examined facial reanimation surgery using the temporalis muscle were included in this study.
Bariatric surgery (BS) has demonstrated cardiovascular benefits in patients and was previously proven to be associated with an increased natriuretic peptide level without cardiac dysfunction. However, new studies have emerged, which require us to re-examine the relationship and extent of the correlation between BS, weight loss, and cardiac natriuretic peptide levels. A systematic search was conducted.

In the recent years there has not been an international collaborative that facilitates professional cooperation on a worldwide level to increase the output of high-level evidence in the fields of obesity treatment and metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS). In other surgical and medical fields, international collaborative research networks have shown to increase the quality and amount of treatment-changing evidence.

Methods: We conducted a systematic review of the PubMed and Cochrane Library databases from inception to June 2024. All clinical trials and observational studies involving the effect of metabolic surgery in Asian patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and BMI <30 kg/m were considered.
Background: Besides its benefits for weight loss, current findings suggest that bariatric surgery can induce remission of hypertension. Limited data report the effect of bariatric surgery on this obesity-associated comorbidity.
Objective: Compare the short-term, mid-term, and long-term remission of hypertension after sleeve gastrectomy versus Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.
Background: Robotic metabolic and bariatric surgery (RMBS) has emerged as an innovative approach in the treatment of severe obesity by combining the ergonomic precision of robotic technology and instrumentation with the established benefits of weight loss surgery. This study employs a bibliometric approach to identify local research trends and worldwide patterns in RMBS.
Materials & Methods: The research methodology used "robotic" and "metabolic" or "bariatric surgery" to search Web of Science.
Overview of personalized dietary therapies. This flow chart exhibits the future prospect for integrating human microbiome and bio-medical research to revolutionize the precise personalized dietary therapies. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI), incorporating database may achieve personalized dietary therapies with high precision.

This study's secondary objective was to characterize the 50 most cited articles in the field of oesophagectomy research.
Background: There has been an increased need for an evaluation tool to indicate research quality.
This systematic review aims to identify the countries most active in combatting predatory journals and their definitions of such practices. It also seeks to assess awareness within academic communities, examine the impact of predatory journals on research quality and integrity, and compile existing policies to mitigate their negative effects and strengthen global scholarly integrity. A systematic search was performed in the PubMed, Scopus, and Embase databases on February 7, 2024, in line with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.

Previous research implies that different psychological and behavior-related factors might be critical for MBS' sustained success. Yet adherence to dietary behavior recommendations and its impact on weight development is rarely examined.

In November 2021, the emergence of the Omicron variant in South Africa added a new dimension. This study aims to assess the disease's severity and determine the extent to which vaccinations contribute to reducing mortality rates.

Therefore, the scientific community needs to establish how this issue can be solved in the long term. Objective The study aims to provide information that can be used to take action against predatory journals and to guide future change.

This study aimed to use bibliometric techniques to identify the research trends and patterns of robotic surgery in Latin America. The research strategy used the terms "Robotic," "Surgery," and the name of all the Latin American countries, in all fields and collections of Web of Science database.

Study Design: A prospective observational study will be performed on all available data from patients who will undergo a browlift procedure in the HMC from 1 June 2021 till 31 May 2024. Our goal is to include at least 50 patients.
Background: Metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS) is the preferred method to achieve significant weight loss in patients with Obesity Class V (BMI > 60 kg/m). However, there is no consensus regarding the best procedure(s) for this population. Additionally, these patients will likely have a higher risk of complications and mortality.

Background: Nonhepatic Hyperammonemic encephalopathy (NHAE) following Bariatric Surgery (BS), mainly Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB) and Biliopancreatic Diversion (BPD) is a potentially devastating condition if not diagnosed and managed promptly.
Methods: A literature review was performed using PRISMA guidelines. Eighteen studies and 3 conference abstracts with a total of 33 patients were included in this review.
Severe malnutrition following one-anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) remains a concern. Fifty studies involving 49,991 patients were included in this review. In-hospital treatment for severe malnutrition was needed for 0.
