Background: Non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by bronchial dilation. However, the significance of elevated eosinophil counts in acute exacerbations of bronchiectasis remains unclear.
Methods: This retrospective case-control study included 169 hospitalized patients with acute exacerbations of non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis.
Structural and compositional design of multifunctional materials is critical for electrocatalysis, but their rational modulation and effective synthesis remain a challenge. Herein, a controllable one-pot synthesis for construction of trifunctional sites and preparation of porous structures is adopted for synthesizing dispersed MoCoP sites on N, P codoped carbonized substance. This tunable synthetic strategy also endorses the exploration of the electrochemical activities of Mo (Co)-based unitary, Mo/Co-based dual and MoCo-based binary metallic sites.

Single chemotherapy often causes severe adverse effects and chemoresistance which limits therapeutic efficacy. Recently, combination of chemotherapy with photothermal therapy (PTT) have received broad attention for synergistic treatment of osteosarcoma, ultimately resulting in the enhancement of therapeutic efficacy of anticancer drugs. In this study, we have developed a novel drug delivery system based on polydopamine (pDA)-modified ZIF-8 nanoparticles loaded with methotrexate (MTX) (pDA/MTX@ZIF-8 NPs).

Herein, for the first time, an implantable polymer-based nanofiber matrix is developed for postoperative tumor management by promoting wound healing and preventing cancer recurrence. The multifunctional matrix is successfully prepared by assembling chitosan-stabilized Se nanoparticles (SeNPs) at the surface of polydopamine (PDA) modified poly(ε-caprolactone)/curcumin fibres (PCL/CUR), denoted as PCL/CUR/PDA@Se.
