Background: Manganese ions (Mn) combined with adjuvants capable of damaging and lysing tumor cells form an antitumor nano-modulator that enhances the immune efficacy of cancer therapy through the cascade activation of the cyclic GMP-AMP interferon gene synthase-stimulator (cGAS-STING) pathway, which underscores the importance of developing antitumor nano-modulators, which induce DNA damage and augment cGAS-STING activity, as a critical future research direction. METHODS AND RESULTS: We have successfully synthesized an antitumor nano-modulator, which exhibits good dispersibility and biosafety. This nano-modulator is engineered by loading manganese dioxide nanosheets (M-NS) with zebularine (Zeb), known for its immunogenicity-enhancing effects, and conducting targeted surface modification using hyaluronic acid (HA).

Laparoscopic surgery is extensively applied in the treatment of hepatobiliary diseases. Hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm (HAP) is a rare complication following hepatic biliary surgery through laparoscopy. The clinical manifestations of HAP are diverse and can be fatal.

Methods: Ninety-one patients received cataract surgery with implantations of monofocal (Mon) IOLs, segmental refractive (SegRef) IOLs, diffractive (Dif) IOLs, and extended-depth-of-focus (EDoF) IOLs were included. The aberrations and optical quality collected with iTrace and OQAS within postoperative 6mo were followed and compared.
Background: Postoperative performance, including best corrected distance visual acuity (BCDVA) and optical metrics (from the OQAS and iTrace devices), was compared among 4 different intraocular lenses (IOLs).
Methods: This prospective observational study included 104 eyes from 104 subjects who underwent cataract surgery combined with implantation of 4 different IOLs: monofocal (Mon) IOLs, segmental refractive (SegRef) IOLs, diffractive (Dif) IOLs and extended depth of focus (EDoF) IOLs. Postoperative BCDVA and optical metrics were collected at the 6th month.
Increasing algal blooms in freshwater lakes have become a serious challenge facing the world. Short-term forecast of chlorophyll-a concentration (Chla) is essential for providing early warnings and taking action to mitigate the risks of algal blooms in freshwater lakes. At present, a variety of data-driven models and physical-based models have been developed for Chla forecast, yet how to effectively combine multiple models for improving the forecast accuracy remains largely unknown.

Methods: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating OM-85 add-on therapy in asthma patients up to December 2021 were searched using PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang database, and WP (WeiPu) database.
Rural environments and microbiota are linked to a reduction in the prevalence of allergies. However, the mechanism underlying the reduced allergies modulated by rural residency is unclear. Here, we assessed gut bacterial composition and metagenomics in urban and rural children in the EuroPrevall-INCO cohort.

Aim Of The Study: This study sought to investigate the temporal trends and sex differences in revascularization and in-hospital outcomes in older STEMI patients.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide, and has relatively high recurrence rates. Few studies have been published on the clinical stages of recurrent HCC.
Aim: To assess the applicability of the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) staging for recurrent HCC and the need to establish clinical stage criteria for recurrent HCC.
T7 peptide is considered as an antiangiogenic polypeptide. The presents study aimed to further detect the antiangiogenic mechanisms of T7 peptide and determine whether combining T7 peptide and meloxicam (COX-2/PGE2 specific inhibitor) could offer a better therapy to combat hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). T7 peptide suppressed the proliferation, migration, tube formation, and promoted the apoptosis of endothelial cells under both normoxic and hypoxic conditions via integrin α3β1 and αvβ3 pathways.

Allergic asthma is a public health problem that affects human health and socioeconomic development. Studies have found that the prevalence of asthma has significantly increased in recent years, which has become particularly pronounced in developed countries. With rapid urbanization in China in the last 3 decades, the prevalence of asthma has increased significantly in urban areas.

Duodenum-preserving pancreatic head resection compared with pancreaticoduodenectomy is technically more challenging, but preserves more functional pancreatic tissue.
Patient Concerns: A 25-year-old woman was admitted to our department on May 10, 2017.

Background: To compare the outcomes of liver resection (LR) with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: A total of 122 HBV-related small HCC patients who underwent LR (n=64) or RFA (n=58) were involved in this retrospective study. Their basic clinical data, postoperative complications, survival outcomes, and prognostic factors were compared and analyzed.
